How about these as more concrete examples:

  • Superman Ruby Spears 1988
  • Superman the Animated Series 1996

For sake of comparison, what was Superman's power level in these?
Hmm

Fleischer Superman cartoon shorts - Original Golden Age
Earthbound leaping, can be knocked down but still invulnerable

The New Adventures of Superman Filmation 1966 - Post CoIE
Takes effort to move the Washington monument after a slight power drain, takes at least ten seconds to fly to Mexico and effort to rip off mountain top.

Superman movie Christopher Reeve 1978 - Bronze Age
Really just because of the feat at the end.

Superman Ruby Spears 1988 - Post CoIE
Tricky, I don't think what he did was much in line with the comics. Swam in lava, saved a ship from Earth orbit. Dealt with a mock Skyhook, Cybron the Brainiac rip, and corporate Lex goons.

Superman the Animated Series 1996 - Golden Age
But with flight. Otherwise, stymied by Earth robots, doesn't leave atmosphere under his own power, typically lifts vehicles and structures overhead to show strength.
