Wonder if we can get a Silver Surfer or Galactus reference here. Seen rumors that those two characters might not have to wait till the deals final because Marvel might have acquired them when they let fox do legion,The gifted, and the hellfire show that never happened.

If not adam McKay is floating the idea of doing GOTG3, and being hes a huge Silver Surfer fan the deal will be done by the then.

I've been on both sides of this so

    "SJW" Hot Topics

Star Trek Discovery (I hate because it doesn't even try to match TOS's Canon if post Nemesis I'd probably like and rate above VOY.).

Dr. Who (Disliked Season 11 but think Jodie is a fine Doctor and hope she gets to shine in Series/Season 12).

Netflix Marvel Shows (I don't think any are "SJW").

CW DC Shows (Are some political? Yes. Are they left leaning? Yes but I like some namely Arrow, Flash, Black Lightning, and Supergirl half the time can't stand Legends and it's not politics its the cringy humor).

MCU (I don't see anything making me think it's going " SJW" looking forward to all upcoming films).

Ghostbuster 2016 (Hated it just a bad film IMO happy were getting proper in Universe GB 3.).

Star Wars (I liked TFA and Rogue One hated Solo and TLJ also hated the Prequels so I've been a causal fan since 02 where I use to be a avid fan. I only care to see Episode 9 to see if Carrie/Leia gets a proper send off.).

Orville (Anti "SJW" crowd love the show and so do I watch Orville please people I need this show to continue OK my shilling is done. ).

Expanse (Anti "SJW" crowd loves it I watched Season One for Thomas Jane walked away uninterested in Season 2 just don't the hype it was a mess storywise IMO.).

OK so this is where I'm coming from I don't love all "SJW" labelled stuff nor do I hate it all.

While the self proclaimed "Anti SJW" side has a lot of disenfranchised fans unhappy with the direction of shows and films there are also a lot of guys in that camp you find who have women issues or just flat out misogynistic they always take shots at the women looks and accomplishments like "What did Kathleen Kennedy really do? Besides ride Spielberg and Lucas's coattails." Types and answer more than any of them will ever do even if all put together. Also take Geek and Gamers he once had an OK Star Wars channel until he figured out ranting "Anti SJW" stuff would get views. I mean seriously dude says the same thing all the time he's a parrot at this point. Also there are plenty of women who are sexist against other women.

Now to be fair I do feel today's writing seem to target groups instead of issues which instead of creating lines of dialogue creates more battle lines. Also I think the Studios are willing to paint all criticism as Alt-Right Trolls just to try and be bulletproof.

Fandom's are "Toxic" but they always were ask George Lucas how the fans treated him the Studios now more willing then ever to throw fans under the bus and social media has only made things worse. Now fans can attack actors and each other chat room board wars have gone public and it's sad for fandom in general.

Also these fans are delusional if they think they're hurting these corporations because if a niche product like Child's Play even Star Trek to a lesser extant fans can effect it but Star Wars, the MCU, etc many of these make their real money off the causal general audience who don't care about any of this crap. Solo and 2016 Ghostbusters didn't do well for the same reason any film doesn't they weren't really good. So I'm going to give you the videos coming out after Captain Marvel.

If Captain Marvel flops "Get Woke Go Broke"

If Captain Marvel is a moderate Success "MCU Brand Carried it."

If massive success either "Marketing deceiving and wasn't woke" or "Sheep consumers will watch anything god help our franchises futures".

Those are you're 4 choices they're not original and won't have an epiphany or anything.

Social Justice Warrior is an empty, meaningless term. I was watching this one guy in a chat room this documentary on targeted individuals. Those are people that think they are being targeted with mind control rays and having computer chips implanted in them. He goes "what is this SJW crap". So basically SJW just means whatever the speaker dosn't like.

The fact that people frequently employ these terms like a shotgun doesn't mean they are meaningless. According to the right-wing, terms like Socialist, Communist and Liberal are interchangeable, but that doesn't make these terms invalid. The word SJW clearly describes a spectrum of internet debate though, you even have people that self-identify as such.

Many of them see short hair Capt Marvel as a symbol of what they don't like about "SJW Marvel" so they project that dislike onto a movie they haven't seen.

Personally, me not being interested in Captain Marvel really has nothing to do with anything that may be perceived as SJW.

Straight up, I have not enjoyed what I've seen from the trailers and promotional material; I'm not hyped at all for it. It's that simple. It looks bland and I think my money will be better served with Endgame and Shazam for the month of April, which is already going to be a busy month for me.

CM will likely wait for a rent.

    Today, it begins in earnest.

The War of 2019 is here.

CAPTAIN MARVEL has officially debuted in American theaters on this day March 8th. SHAZAM! follows less than a month from now, on April 5th.

    Let the non-spoiler talk commence!

Are you seeing both movies? Have you seen CM yet? Overall impressions? Exceeded expectations, about what you expected, didn't live up to expectations?

    Spill without spoil!

Yes seeing both and saw Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel was fun but wasnt what I was expecting. Lower MCU quality that said it was still very enjoyable. Just had higher expectation cause like DT said it was Antman in a Avengers wrapper. I feel like Shazam may be a similar movie but it's being marketed as a fun movie so I'll react to it better cause my expectations are gonna be expecting something epic. I have no doubt ima enjoy them both but gotta wait to see Shazam to say which one was better. Captain marvel is gonna win the box office though.

    I'll be seeing both, too.

Captain Marvel's box office will be higher, but Shazam! has a much lower budget and will be profitable. Shazam! is also going to win the GA.

Shazam's already the clear winner for me. Marvel sucked.

I'm not fussed if Shazam makes less money too. CM will be a 'success' like Last Jedi and Batman v Superman were 'sucessess'

Serious question, why do you go see Marvel movies still when I don't recall you ever saying anything nice about any of them?
I ask that wiith all sincerity, not being smug .

Not really, even if Captain Marvel is garbage (I'm seeing it tomorrow, don't know yet) the future of the MCU is not remotely dependent on Captain Marvel like Last Jedi was for Star Wars and BvS was for the DCEU. If CM is trash and End Game kills it, MCU can shuffle the cards like nothing happened. If CM is meh, like Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, they can just look into new directors and move on, and if it's good, well yeah no issue.

I just saw this movie and I'm really hyped. I followed her series back when Deconnick relaunched it and I really think they got the character right, like how she's cocky but plays it off humorously. She's not necessarily a likeable character all the time, but I've always liked her, if that makes sense. I don't know how it plays with general audiences. I walked out of the theater behind this old granny and grandpa who had stayed for the mid-credits scene and were naming all the characters to each other. That still trips me out, but my impression was they were just there to see the more familiar characters. Who knows if they liked Captain Marvel. But I felt like this was a really fan-oriented movie, so I dug it.
