For the first full trailer? Yeah, sounds right.

For the first teaser trailer? No way. You need to start building direct hype for this flick long before that.

And, if memory serves, every single previous MCU movie (all 20 of them: from IRON MAN in 2008 through ANT-MAN & THE WASP in 2018) already had an official teaser trailer out before the T-minus 6-months mark.

This is a first for the MCU. And I'm not sure it's a good move.

Unless the teaser trailer is spectacular. Then I redact all my concerns.

No, for the first poster and teaser.

Nah, that'll be when the first teaser trailer for AVENGERS 4 gets released, as that this the same timeline they used with INFINITY WAR's teaser vs release dates, and Marvel is nothing if not consistent.

CAPTAIN MARVEL (March 8) will get hers first, since her movie comes out a few months earlier than AVENGERS 4 (May 3).

I'm willing to bet a substantial amount ... of my nerd-cred ... that CAPTAIN MARVEL gets its first official teaser trailer before this month of September is over.

Yeah, not buying that as the official teaser trailer at all.

    Looks like a fan-edit.

Also, Marvel would be hyping this immediately. Google "Captain Marvel" right now. Nothing about an official teaser trailer at all.

    That is a fake.

    Of course it's fake.

Here's the thing. The period between September and Thanksgiving is Oscar bait season. Not the sort of movies you release a superhero trailer with. The first Disney movie this could potentially come out with is the Wreck-It Ralph sequel at Thanksgiving. Mary Poppins gets Avenger 4. Then we have 3-5 months of marketing blitz mostly generated by news and fan outlets.

That timeline may apply to full trailers, but teaser trailers, which can come out up to a year before the release, are by no means bound to it.

Also, Brie Larson is teasing something with Marvel that will drop around 12 pm tomorrow (Wednesday).

Whether it's the teaser trailer, teaser poster, or a picture of her making soup, is unclear. But something IS happening.

    Probably.

Was there some sort of agreement between Marvel and DC that neither will have the sash?

Mmmm yea. I feel like if you can have capes then you can have a sash. But i'm sure the military background (for a lot of these heroes) plays a part in that.

So, that "something" on Friday was indeed a something.

Not an internet-breaking teaser trailer, but better than a teaser poster. Captain Marvel made the cover story of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly:

    Which is pretty cool overall.

Let's go over the cover: her costume is MUCH better than I thought it would look. The lack of a sash is a wee bit disappointing, but just seeing the blue-and-red colors makes up for that.

The bigger issue for me is Brie's facial expression: she looks ... kinda bored?

I get she was probably going for "intense" or "focused" or "serious", but I'm getting a more "annoyed" vibe from that look.

Whatever, Brie looks good. And I'm glad that we finally have some official promotional piece for a major MCU
    movie opening next March.

Tuesday, the 18th of September 2018.

Brie Larson is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the ABC network's talk show GOOD MORNING AMERICA that day.

ABC and Marvel are both owned by Disney.

AVENGERS INFINITY WAR also had its trailer debut on GMA.

Something is happening next week for sure to CAPTAIN MARVEL.

Excellent trailer, I think. Gets you pumped, no clue what the movie is really about.

Whenever people say a MCU trailer gets people excited, it's usually followed by me viewing it and not getting what the big deal is.

    This was no different.

    Looks boring.
