Historia having the subtitle the Amazons makes me wonder if we will be getting more books under the Historia header if this does well.

Who else could be explored? Historia: Circe would probably be the one I'd want to see the most, she's the only other major player from that time period. The Gods seem to already be getting focus here, so I doubt we'd get a separate one for them.

I mean the Historia books could be since it's taking place from Hippoltya's rule to Steve's crash landing

Another update on Phil's Instagram, which he cites is the "birth of an Amazon queen." Guessing this is Hippolyta

Another update from Phil. He shared a design for Io (!) today, and is hoping that this book will be available by the summer. Making no promises though, understandably:

Oh how I wish this book collects famous amazons from different runs and put them in the same story. We could use an established pantheon.

Well we are for sure getting Hippolyta (natch), Io, Timandra and Venelia according to Jimenez. I imagine we'll definitely see Philippus, and I'm hoping also Antiope, Melanippe, Mala, and Althea, among others.
Plus I think we're getting some new ones. It also seems to be adhering to the original Perez origin, just expanding on it, so it might be too early to see Artemis.

What I'd really like to see is a better and more interesting view of the Bana-Mighdall and their split from the Themysciran Amazons.

Even if I don't like the story, I'm probably buying the book just for the art.

Yeah the art is the main selling point here for me.

Though the snippets of the art we've seen have conveyed some interesting story beats so far, so I think at the very least the story will be solid if not great.

With the bald head and all the blood, it seems similar to the New 52 Ares. Along with Hermes looking a but like Chiang's, I wonder if they are deliberately pulling some influence from the New 52 pantheon? Not completely obviously, but little nods.
Kind of reminds me of how the Spartans looked in Frank Miller's 300. Wonder if that's intentional given the Spartans in real-life worshiped of Ares as a positive figure.

    Definitely 99% for the art.
