And I have seen him "flame off" involuntarily because he got wet, or indeed, got his oxigen sucked away. I have also seen him do fire stuff in the vacuum of space.

Im leaning rowards Storm because of lightning. It would be interesting to see if she could stop his powers by removing the air around him.

Johnny blowing himself up is a pretty immediate and sizable explosion as far as its initial kaboom really, the lightning itself doesn't matter as compared to who gets their murder power thought going first.

Neither of them really blow past each other reflex wise. Sometimes one, sometimes the other.
