I'm actually curious if the entire roster was Williamson's idea or if editorial mandated at least a few of them.

Has he clarified that at all in any interviews?

Hell no to Lobo and Hawkman for me. The others are who I would want to see added later. However Captain Comet would need to be his pre-52 self.

This is such a bummer. I was really excited about the book and it would have shipped two days after my birthday.
Now I'm worried about editorial interference. I hope this doesn't make Sejic leave the book sooner than planned. It must be terrible to have two issues done and have to start over.
I wonder what was so big that needed entire issues to be redrawn.

I actually think that Jessica Cruz is the least interesting character in this line up. Azreal looks cool and I’m curious to see how they work him into this.

this was an unfortunate result of human error. these things happen. it wasn't a matter of anyone being lazy stuff was well and done but sometimes Murphy's law kicks in and you realize that there was a miscommunication between departments on issues of continuity

and here we are. back to the old drawing board.

Someone's head should roll for this - editorial should've caught the problem at the script stage, before those two issues were drawn.

Williamson comments on the delay:

The book was delayed, with two finished issues scrapped. Williamson is speaking about that decision.

"Every time we talked about it, we realized the story was getting bigger and bigger." The decision to rework the two issues came after a writer's summit. Williamson said the delay was necessary to put Justice League Odyssey on the right trajectory.

He said Darkseid is the "heart and soul" of JL Odyssey.

"Part of my goal with this story is to remind you and show you why Darkseid is the greatest villain in the DC Universe."

I imagine it's a possibility that since DC is planning a big event next year, Williamson may have changed some things up so the book can still be involved in time.
