So is Tom Taylor spoofing stories that jump into the future?

He is, or at least he's spoofing the ones that invariably depict the future as a dystopian s***hole, basically making the heroes' efforts in the present amount to nothing. That said, I do like Gabby's look as the All-Newer Wolverine from the future, but then I'm a sucker for the Tron look.

Even when she's older, Gabby is still as lovable as ever. Plus, she has lightsabre claws. That's a promising future if ever there was one.

Also, it's not so much a spoof as Taylor simply breaking the string of one dystopian future after another and actually doing something DIFFERENT.

The arc is actually called Old Woman Laura. It's also the last arc before Mariko Tomaki takes over with X-23 #1. So we've pretty much seen the last of the grey Wolverine costume (of course, we don't know yet what Gabby will wear in X-23 - she could just use her Red costume, in which case we've seen the last of her current costume as well).

“That dialogue” is part of Taylor’s “spoofing” of that genre of time-displaced comics. You’ve got to read between the lines.
