Tieri's Jono was so bland. No snark...But I did like the idea of him infiltrating Weapon X for the X-Men.

I think I read that Remender liked Jono but dont know if it was ever stated why he never used him...

Yeah, Tieri had Jono do a lot of interesting things, but I wasn't a fan of Jono's "voice" in his hands. And yet: Better Tieri than dead! Lol.

I need to dig out my issue b/c I dont remember...what did he do that was creepy? He was gonna have sex with Gayle in a closet(?) at a party I think...& his powers manifest, which ends up hurting her...as we all know.

I get he's not the easiest character to like, both personality wise & appearance wise, but he appears so rarely in books that I have a hard time understanding how anyone could develop enough hate for him. Its not like hes one of those superstar characters that gets pushed into a million books & you get sick of...

I do have this head canon that before his manifest, he was a bit(or maybe a lot) of a self centered douche. He was probably wealthy, his family maybe rich Akkabah worshipping elite...he & his circle probably looked down at freakish mutants, & had girls all over him. Then his powers erupt and it all changes, he changes his lifestyle, probably has to hit the streets & be with the undesirables he uses to mock, gets into the punk/goth thing, then eventually the X-Men. I think part of his self loathing comes more from what he knows he used to be than what he currently is.

He was *definitely* well off. He used to talk about his parents going on skiing holidays. I mean, the stuff from Uncanny certainly makes him out to be an entitled douche. The New Excalibur story straight out said he knew his family was a bunch of apocalypse worshipers and he has that clan akkabah tattoo on his chest from when he was a kid-onward. Then it showed up again when they infused him with his blood.

He was a bit of a rockstar pre accident too.
