    Default New Project: Superpowers Series

    Just saw this at Newsarama. As someone who loved the original "Chapters" and hated the more recent retooling by Ellis, this sounds promising.

    Looking forward to it.

    Let's not forget (or maybe we should?) last year's Hero Kllers limited series!

    Ellis' take on Superpowers didn't work for me either. Herokillers was even worse. The original series was good. I especially enjoyed Black Terror and the Owl. Hopefully we'll get something similar.

    I'm pretty excited about this. I read the original chapters and minis and couldn't get enough, but then it just stopped and I never expected to see the universe I grew to love back again. I know this is a reboot, but it certainly sounds like it's the same world as before. Does anyone know any more on that? Is it a complete reboot like Blackcross was that resembles the old status quo, or is it a continuing of the old status quo in a new, fresh way?

    My passion for Project Superpowers faded. Then they announced that Ellis would be in charge of version 3 and the bloom had been off the Ellis rose for me for sometime so it made it easy to stay away.
    With Dark Horse letting CGW2.0 end and Archie faltering on Dark Circle 2.0 as well I think I'm just sticking with VALIANT. I just hope with their leadership change that they don't turn into Acclaim 2.0 also.

    I feel pretty much the same way about the original chapters. This sounds like it's going to be a reboot that stays true to the original series? Not a dramatic departure like Ellis did.

    But with the urn in play they can have a multiverse of P:SP universes. So I'm not overly concerned so long as it's good.

    So i saw this today:

    Project Superpowers Omnibus Vol 1: Dawn of Heroes TP

    From the dawn of the 20th Century came a new chapter in mankind's history, unleashed during a time of great war and destruction. It was the beginning of the Age of the Superpowers, yet with the closing of the Second World War, this new spark seemingly flickered and died. Now the story can be told of the great lost superheroes ― men and women with incredible abilities who changed the course of mankind forever, and who had been thought lost...until now!
    Includes
    * Project Superpowers Chapter 1: #0-7 (#0 1/2008, #7 10/2008)
    * Project Superpowers Wizard ½ (11/2008): 12 pages + 1 cover
    * Project Superpowers Chapter 2: #0-12 (#0 5/2009, #12 9/2010)
    * Over 500 pages of story + more than 50 pages of bonus material!
    After chapter 2 came out i waited for it to be collected in it's entirety.

    Now i get that plus chapter 1!

    Some new pics in the CBR article. Looks like it's pretty much in line with the original P:SP stories (with the WW2 background, etc). Really looking forward to this now.
