I always thought this issue of Conan was very special. Buscema had taken over for Barry Smith and was doing a good job, though I didn't like Chans's inks on him. Though his work was always first rate, he hadn't yet captured the shear wonder than Smith had (he would eventually, but not this early in his tenure.)
Then came this issue, Adams steps in for one issue and delivers something remarkable. It was one of those comics I returned to again and again.
