The Witch Elm by Tana French. It was a recommendation. Would not have picked it up otherwise. Hope I ll also make it through Even Dogs In The Wild and The Witching Hour in Oktober. Maybe I pick up People of Darkness since it gets a TV adaption.

    Got delivery last week of

The Crime That Binds by Laurie Cass
    <Bookmobile Cat Mystery #10>
for my Mom. It came out at the start of this month, though it was originally due out this past May. (And I had pre-ordered it back in January!)

Now waiting for delivery of which I bought for myself online on Columbus Day.

Borrowed some more new cozy mysteries from a library recently for my Mom:

Dashing Through the Snowbirds by Donna Andrews
    (A Meg Langslow Mystery)

A Dark and Snowy Night by Sally Goldenbaum
    (Seaside Knitters Society Mystery)

    and

The Plot and the Pendulum by Jenn McKinlay
    (A Library Lover's Mystery)

Coming out next week is Going Rogue: Rise and Shine Twenty-Nine by Janet Evanovich in the Stephanie Plum series, which she also reads. Not soon how soon that will be available from the library, but I did already put in a reserve on it.

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/ has a 25% off sale for pre-ordered books (the sale ends tonight), so I pre-ordered three paperback mysteries due out in August for my Mom:

Death of a Clam Digger by Lee Hollis
(A Hayley Powell Food and Cocktails Mystery #16)

Nine Lives and Alibis by Cate Conte
    (A Cat Café Mystery #7)

and A Troubling Tail by Laurie Cass
    (Bookmobile Cat Series #11)

So I'll probably use one of those for part of her Halloween pumpkin pail and the other two in her Christmas stocking.
(Still have to come up with books for her Easter basket, Mother's Day, and her birthday, all of which are before those books are due to be published.)

I ordered the upcoming C.J. Box thriller Storm Watch using the sale. There's so many books by authors I read that are coming out that I just can't buy them all right now.

I was just focusing on specific paperback series I know my Mom has liked since those aren't as likely to be available from the area libraries I use.

I went to the library book sale and got State of the Union by Brad Thor and Assassin's Run by Ward Larsen.

Then I went to the library and got Paige Shelton's Fateful Words.

Found out that I'm getting an advance copy of Joanna Schaffhausen's Dead And Gone.

Got contacted by an author on Facebook and they are sending me a signed copy of their latest book.

Picked up a copy of the new Alfred Hitchcock Mystery magazine that has a short story by Nikki Knight from her Vermont Radio series.

And then received in the mail on Saturday a finished hardcover copy of the new Jack Carr thriller Only The Dead, which is not due out until May 16th.

Looking for some new mystery novels to buy and read?

The Youtube series We Are What We Read has posted its 3rd episode.

This series gathers guests from across the mystery community from authors, fans, reviewers, bloggers and more.

Episode 3 features John Copenhaver, Robyn Gigl, Sherry Harris, Grace Koshida, James L'Etoile, Delia Pitts, LynDee Walker and in a bit of shameless self-promotion...me.

My part begins with my introduction around the 34:10 mark.

    Nice.

I helped arrange an in-person author visit to the Mystery Book Club I co-run at the local library for this month. We'll have Maddie Day (aka Edith Maxwell) there for a discussion about MURDER ON CAPE COD, the first book in the Cozy Capers Book Group mystery series plus a Q&A about her books in general as well.
