Just order this book from AMAZON.
Some of those Hard Case Crime covers are rather risque. Ah, I love looking gazing at those covers.

I didn't buy them, but I just received four advance copies of books to review for Mystery Scene magazine. New books by C.J. Box, Ellen Hart, David Baldacci and Lauren North.

I also got informed that I've been selected once again as an official Mitch Rapp Ambassador which means that I'll be receiving an advance copy of the new thriller Lethal Agent soon as well.

I'm working on the Cornelia Kidd mystery novel Death and a Pot of Chowder. It is the first book in her Maine Murder series. Sadly it will also be the only book in the series as the author (real name Lea Wait) passed away a couple weeks back from cancer.

I did a book buying binge this week so bear with me as I post this one.

First up was the monthly meeting of my local town library's Mystery Book Club. We read Delivering The Truth by Edith Maxwell this month. I have a passing acquaintance/friendship with the author and due in part to that, she came to the meeting on October 10th. We talked about that book, the entire series and a bunch of other topics as well.

After the meeting was over, people bought books from her and had them signed. This would included me.

I picked up a copy of Judge Thee Not, the fifth book in the Quaker Midwife Mysteries series. It was just published a few weeks ago and I hadn't gotten it yet.

I also bought books 2-5 of her Local Foods Mysteries: 'Til Dirt Do Us Part, Farmed and Dangerous, Murder Most Fowl and Mulch Ado About Murder. I began reading her work after this series had ended and hadn't yet gotten around to buying the books. When I saw she had these four, I had to buy them. And I'm working on getting the first book as well.

I also bought 2 copies of the first book in her Country Store Mysteries series, Flipped For Murder, which I'm giving as gifts to a couple of friends.

Here's a photo of me and the co-moderators of the book club with Edith Maxwell (Edith's in black and I'm in the Patriots sweatshirt).

Then today, I went to a library book sale a couple towns over from me and spent a whole 8 dollars and came home with 6 books.

The books are all by authors that I haven't read anything from before:

The Cereal Murders by Diane Mott Davidson (One of the authors recommended to the mystery book club by Edith Maxwell.
Nothing Short of Dying by Erik Storey
An Innocent Client by Scott Pratt
The Dead Don't Lie by Stuart M. Kaminsky
A Tap On The Window by Linwood Barclay
Red Mandarin Dress by Qiu Xiaolong[/I]

Then I went to my local Barnes and Noble and picked up the first book in three cozy series.

Assaulted Caramel (The Amish Candy Shop Mysteries by Amanda Flower
Murder By The Book (The Beyond The Page Bookstore Mysteries by Lauren Elliott)
Murder In The Mystery Suite (The Book Retreat Mysteries by Ellery Adams)

I'd love to read some Charlie Chan prose novels.
