    I've started reading Raw Law: The Complete Cases of MacBride and Kennedy, Vol. 1 (1928-1930) by Frederick Nebel.

    And in the meantime, my Mom just started on

    Buy a Whisker by Sofie Ryan
    (the second book in the Second Chance Cat Mystery series)

    I also just took out two Hannah Swensen mysteries from our local library for her:

    Cherry Cheesecake Murder (2006)

    Key Lime Pie Murder (2007)

    That's the third one in that series, right?

    Too bad they didn't go with the 4th book, The Spook in the Stacks.

    Yes, it's the third book and I actually did suggest the fourth book but the library system didn't have many copies in the system. But they did have plenty of Book 3.

    Currently reading

    Lady, Lady, I Did It! by Ed McBain
    <87th Precinct series>
    (orig. published 1961 / republished by Thomas & Mercer in 2011)
    which I finally got around to getting from a library that had been closed for a couple of months late last year / earlier this year (due to damage from a burst/leaking pipe).

    I also was looking to see if the 20th book in the 87th Precinct series (Doll) was recently republished by Thomas & Mercer (Amazon) or anybody else, but the most recent listing I can find is a 1997 edition published by Grand Central Publishing?

    I just picked up the R.G. Belsky thriller Yesterday's News and received an advance copy of the novella collection Christmas Cocoa Murder from one of the three authors featured in the book.
