I've started reading Raw Law: The Complete Cases of MacBride and Kennedy, Vol. 1 (1928-1930) by Frederick Nebel.

And in the meantime, my Mom just started on

I've read the first three in this series and have the fourth in my TBR stack. The first two books I found to be kind of "eh", but loved Book 3.

Too bad they didn't go with the 4th book, The Spook in the Stacks.

Yes, it's the third book and I actually did suggest the fourth book but the library system didn't have many copies in the system. But they did have plenty of Book 3.

which I finally got around to getting from a library that had been closed for a couple of months late last year / earlier this year (due to damage from a burst/leaking pipe).

I also was looking to see if the 20th book in the 87th Precinct series (Doll) was recently republished by Thomas & Mercer (Amazon) or anybody else, but the most recent listing I can find is a 1997 edition published by Grand Central Publishing?
