Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #7 - Things get kind of....strange. For those who knew Vril Dox II had a son, this is how that all came about.

I first read this issue much later than it was published - probably around 1998/9 - when I was about 17 or 18. Even then, I still remember being shocked that they'd gotten away with such strong implications of sexual assault.

I've got the first 25 issues digitally but I'd love for this series to come out in trade.

Same here, but I expect something major would have to be in the works with one or more of the characters before anything happens.

Same here. I remember when my nephew was 15 and was asking to read some of my comics from the 80s and 90s. I almost gave him the first 12 issues of this book but decided against it when I remembered this storyline. Between the bullet in the head from last issue to this shocker, Giffen was pulling out all the stops.

I don't recall especially enjoying R.E.B.E.L.S. the first time around but just finished #11 and I'm riveted. Lyrl has to be one of the biggest despots in DCU history.

Yeah, Lyrl was a lot more like his grandfather than his father for sure.

Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #9 - This issue covered a lot but is probably most famous for posing two important questions: 1) What happened to the Durlan? and 2) What is Phantom Girl doing in the 20th Century?

Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #10 - It's Vril Dox (or I guess his clone) vs Lobo.

That cover would've made a great poster!

And thanks for continuing to post these reviews, caj. I don't always reply, but I'm still reading them all.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of all of Kevin Maguire's covers but this one was definitely a keeper.

Glad you're enjoying the reviews, SJNeal. I was hoping for more interest/discussions of the issues but as long as people are utilizing them, I'll keep posting them.

This was probably my favorite group shot drawn by Barry Kitson for the Who's Who in DC series of the 90s

Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #13 - It's L.E.G.I.O.N vs the Emerald Eye. Plus, the intro to Lady Quark from Crisis On Infinite Earths.
