You do know they put mask in the hasbroverse (transformers, gijoe, jem, cops, inhumanoids, etc) and mask has been confirmed to be a gijoe team and venom is a cobra team? The IDW comic universe however they are not joes.

Hasbro had a shared cartoon universe long before DCA did! Cartoons in this universe are--

headcanon: Trakker was independently wealthy and didn't really need to be hampered by GI Joe so he started his own team

The IDW mask is not tied to the joes also. My guess is they won't be in the movie also. The question is will they update the cars to today or will it take place in the 80s with the same ones? (my guess is update it.)

from what I remember of the series, not all that hard to update the vehicles to today
