Yeah, SDCC is the weekend immediately before the solicits are due out too, so it makes perfect sense.

Never use to care for Morrison's writing, but of late' appreciating his material much more. The 'Green Lantern' concept seems a perfect fit for his style of prose & ideas. Go for it Grant.
It can go either way with Morrison. I wouldn't say I'm particularly excited whether this is true or not.
What stories of Morrison's left you cold?
I know I didn't fully appreciate Final Crisis until recently. I totally understand people not liking that story. He took a big swing and missed because he wasn't on the same page as editorial, who messed up his story by also not marketing it properly and letting Starlin do his own thing in a pretty crappy Death of the New Gods. In Europe, they explicitly link Seven Soldiers as Final Crisis. The newest edit of the full Final Crisis made me completely change my view.
I was ok with Final Crisis. His Action Comics run was very underwhelming. I remember I wasn't a fan of Batman, Inc. at all and I thought Batman RIP was kind of mediocre. Meanwhile All-Star Superman and JL were great. So it can go either way with him as I mentioned. Morrison just doesn't excite me as a writer for some reason. Liam Sharp potentially doing the art intrigues me way more.
Oh hell yes. Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp on Green Lantern? I'll be all over it for sure even if it is only 12 issues...
DC Nation has an interesting tidbit about the upcoming villain from Morrison's GL series:
