    Default Help with choosing comics?

I'm not a new reader but I would like to read comics from various eras but without committing to a specific character or run by an author. Because there are so many comics/storylines from the past 30+ years, I find it difficult to find the right comics or storylines for me.

Do you have any suggestions or ways I could make this easy for myself?

What kind of stuff do you like to read? Dark and gritty, super heroic?

What do you like to watch on TV? That will kinda show us what you like.

What characters do you know, and we can start with those?
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

I'm interested in the different iterations of the same characters over the different years. For example, I would like to maybe read different variations of Wonder Woman but maybe only from the 2000's up to 2011.

Oh if it's different iterations through all the years then I'd recommend the Celebration of 25, 50, 60, and 75 Years collections, but if you have a specific era in mind then you need to list it for each character.

Wonder Woman 2000-2011 for example, there are collections written by Greg Rucka (pre-2006), Gail Simone (post-2006), then J. Michael Stracyzinski (2010).

Of course Black Adam is there. A lot is a big word. First of, there are not a lot of Shazam! comics. So their is even less Black Adam stories. But In the end, what matters is the quality of the stories I listed.

What a fantastic suggestion list/guide! Well done. I'd pick a few of those to check out from the characters that interest you.
