I never thought Phyla was treated very well when she was acting as Quasar, either, but you know how people were attracted to the sword, outfit, and attitude, and again, the diversity. What is painful is that Wendell has a pretty strong fanbase that like the powers, costume, attitude, optimism, and overall "Captain America of Space" vibe, and there is zero reason to "replace" that, as they've clearly tried to do twice. How about merely EXPANDING the Quantum Band universe to a few characters? Let Avril have her OWN identity - not as Quasar, but as "Quantum" or something. Let Quasar be Quasar and Avril be her own character, you know? Why must female characters like Captain Marvel or She-Hulk have to always inherit initial male hero names? At least Spectrum and Invisible Woman and Storm are all unique.
