Used the app to reread Geoff Johns' GL run and the GL Corps run that ran alongside it. Forgot just how much fun those were up until Brightest Day.

Johns and Tomasi were really on their game and in-sync back then .

I wonder if part of the reason DC is cutting back on trades is because they now have so much on DC Universe?

Plan is to have a near complete library on service.
Basically every DC Universe comic that goes to Comixology will go there.
With the exception that new comics will wait a year before coming to the service.

This does not include Vertigo or comics that are only available in collections.
However, DC Comics is allowing DC Universe to carry a few Vertigo titles to support the Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing shows.

They currently have all of the comics older than one year available on Comixology on DC Universe app.
New comics will be added as follows:

New release comics come to the app one year after publication. April 2018 comics were all added this week to reach the one-year point.
Next week, they'll be releasing the first week of May 2018 comics.

Old/classic comics get added to the app the Tuesday after they get added to Comixology. DC Comics adds new digital comics of their back catalog to Comixology every Thursday. Usually about a dozen or so comics.
They've been working through their back catalog at a steady pace for the past eight years.

    But right now...
Every non-Vertigo comic on Comixology that's from April 2018 or before is on the app.
With the Doom Patrol (1987) series and Swamp Thing (1982) series as temporary per the deal between DC Comics and DC Universe.

As for the Golden Age stuff, DC's working through everything pretty evenly, but what gets digitized first is usually something of higher priority to them and is usually influenced by any current storylines or events.
They do try to keep things spread out, though, and offer something from different eras.

This last Thursday, DC Comics added these to Comixology:
America vs. the Justice Society (1985) #1
    Deadman (1985) #1, 2
    Detective Comics (1937) #366
    Hourman (1999) #1
Justice League of America (1960) Annual #1
    Lois Lane (1986) #1
    Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane (1958) #1
Tales of the Green Lantern Corps (1981) #1-3

They will be added to DC Universe on Tuesday.

The books DC Comics digitzed the week before were added this week, on Tuesday, and they included the last issues of the 1966 Teen Titans series and the last issues of the 1958 Challengers of the Unknown series.
They only did the last storyline of Challengers, which co-starred Deadman and Swamp Thing, but they now have 49 issues of the Teen Titans series, which ran for 53 issues.
Issues 25-28 haven't been digitized for Comixology, yet.
Interestingly, they do have two more issues of Teen Titans on DC Universe than on Comixology, as 23 and 24 are on DC Universe but not on Comixology.

Note: If anyone is surprised at the amount of content available for Mr. Terrific and Wildcat while characters like Flash, Hawkman and Green Lantern have very few comics... it's because DC digitized a large chunk of Sensation Comics when the Wonder Woman movie came out and they benefited from being featured in the title alongside her.

    I don't think so.
I think they're treating DC Universe as just another outlet.

Loving your updates, @Lee Stone! If you're ever inclined to do so, would be great to hear which books you're enjoying.

Really excited to learn Hourman #1 (1999) is coming next week. Been waiting forever for DC to put this series out again. It's one of my favorites.

    Thanks!

One thing I really like about the service is the Lists.
I've made a list for just about every interest I have.
This helps me immensely because I can get tripped up easily just by not having an organized way to sort the comics.

    Currently, I have 30 lists.
But most of them just have one comic as a place-holder to start the list.
When I read a comic, I'll add the next comic to be read for that 'topic' to the list.
So every list will essentially have all comics I've read for that 'topic' plus the next comic in queue.
That way, no matter what I'm in the mood for, when I open the list, the next comic to read for it will be readily available.

The only List I made an exception to is one I made for 'Who's Who '89'. This is just a list to keep all the 1989 Annuals that had Who's Who entries in. They currently have 9 of the 13 annuals up. And they're in this list.

Lists that are in the 'starting' phase and only have one comic:
    Legion of Super-Heroes (Levitz)
    New Teen Titans
    Outsiders
    Infinity, Inc.
Justice League of America (Detroit era)
    Firestorm
    Blue Devil
    Blue Beetle
    Booster Gold
    Justice League International
    Arion
    Amethyst
    Omega Men ('80s)
Justice League of America (Satellite era, starting with Firestorm joining)
Justice Society of America (Golden Age)
    Seven Soldiers of Victory (Morrison)
    Tangent Nightwing
    Legion (DnA era)
    DCAU
    The Terrifics
    Silver Age DCU

Lists I've started reading and have more issues in them:
    Doom Patrol ('60s) -I've read 3
Justice League Dark -I've read 6
    Fourth World -I've read 2
    Young Animal -I've read 7
    Future Quest -I've read 6
    Post-Crisis DCU -I've read 6
DC Streets (basically Post-Crisis DCU with everything but Batman, Green Arrow, Question and Huntress filtered out) -I've read 2
Golden Age DCU -I've read 3

    As for what I've enjoyed...

    Doom Patrol ('60s) is good.

Justice League Dark was okay. I really didn't like it as much as I wanted to. Dropped.

Fourth World is good. I've read most of them already. But this is my first time reading the Jimmy Olsen comics.
I consider the Fourth World books an extension of Young Animal in spirit.

Young Animal... Reading these in order of publication... So far 3 issues of Doom Patrol, 2 issues of Shade the Changing Girl, and 1 issue each of Cave Carson and Mother Panic.
Enjoying Doom Patrol. Not really feeling it for Shade and dropped her. Cave Carson was okay, giving him one more issue. Mother Panic seems good so far.

Future Quest has been fun. Really like it. I'm reading these in tandem with Young Animal according to order of publication.

Post-Crisis DCU... I'm halfway through Man of Steel (like), and just started Batman and Detective (like and like). I've already read most of the Post-Crisis DCU as it was my DC Universe during the late '80s. I could read DC Comics from 1986 to 1994 (well, 1992) over and over again.

DC Streets... is the aforementioned Batman and Detective issues copied over to this list.

Golden Age DCU... I've read one GA Atom story and two GA Black Canary stories (one actually being a Johnny Thunder story)... the Atom story was okay. I never really cared for his later costume. And I was surprised that he didn't inform the girl at the end about the oil found on her land... I really enjoyed the Black Canary stories. Especially the second one where she hides her identity from Larry Lance by being friendly towards him as Black Canary and cold-hearted towards him as Dinah.

Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #2
Not really feeling it for this title, either. Dropping.
Think I'd rather have a Cave Carson book that's more like Future Quest.
