DC Universe Wins Big at the Telly Awards

The article announces that five shows won a total of 30 awards.
They list four of the shows (likely because the fifth one isn't currently available).
If I can find out what the fifth show was, I'll post about it.

I tried going straight to the source, but the Telly Awards only have a video on their site and it won't play for me.

    The winners were:

Bringing Back Young Justice - a behind the scenes look at the making of the 3rd season. 1 season/5 episodes.

DC Universe Presents - an exploration of DC characters and stories in different media. 1 season/20 episodes.

DC Daily - DC Universe's daily promo/news show. Airs weekdays. 1 season/177 episodes.

DC’s New Frontier - actually an episode of DC Daily. Season 1, Episode 85. A special episode focusing on the work of Darwyn Cooke and his time at DC Comics.

And I just discovered that the fifth winner was the Kevin Smith promotional stream that pre-empted the launch of DC Universe.

    Some more reading:

Justice League of America (1960) #185
The final part of the annual JLA/JSA team-up.
This issue had a couple great bits.
First: The speech to Crimson by Superman regarding why heroes don't kill.
Second: The spark of flirtation beginning between Firestorm and Power Girl.
And Metron, not Batman, saved the day!
A very enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the next team-up.
Which reminds me... I need to get back to reading All-Star Comics.

BTW... I'm currently avoiding spoilers for Doom Patrol because I promised my roommate I'd wait and watch the final episode with him and we just haven't gotten around to it, yet.

I hope Diane Guerrero gets some attention at the emmys for Doom Patrol, because she more than deserves it! Too bad it probably won't happen as we all know how the academy feels about supehero media.
Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

I've now seen another news article sourcing a 'rumor' from December that Doom Patrol got renewed.
The same rumor, by 'Fandom Wire' has been sourced by other articles, as well. And the articles are treating it as fact and not even mentioning that it was a rumor.
It is not true and is/was a rumor. Like, five months ago.

There still has not been an announcement.
But a recent interview does give hope.

    I agree.
Maybe she'll get something on the People's Choice Awards. They still do that, right?

Actually, I would think the show being Mature Audiences may be more of a barrier than being a superhero show.
But maybe it will help them take it seriously enough to consider it.
If Walking Dead or Game of Thrones can be considered, so can Doom Patrol.

    Nice poster.
Good choice to pull from for a quick idea of the character.

I'm still on the fence about it, though.
I've heard that a lot of the horror is 'body horror' and not 'psychological horror'. That may turn me off.
But I'll at least watch the first episode and see for myself.

Their version of Swampy seems to borrow from the Steve Bissette art. But personally, my favourite was Bernie Wrigtson's--which has a smoother more mucky look than Bissette's which is more twiggy. As a young teen, Wrightson's art was pretty strong stuff for me (having an element of Graham "Ghastly" Ingels)--and issue 10, with the Un-Men, freaked me out. I think that's about as ghastly as a Code approved book ever got. But even though it horrified me, I also loved it. That's the kind of Swamp Thing I'd like to see, but we'll probably get something more Moore.

I might wait until the whole series is done, so I can watch it without as much bother. Trying to get DOOM PATROL every week, without the DC Universe service, was a royal pain. If I can get the whole series at one go and binge it that's a lot easier. Also, I have to monitor how much data I use per month, if I go over my limit, I get dinged by the service provider. And I'm nearly over for this month.

    More reading:

    Justice League: No Justice #2
Manupul's art is starting to grow on me, but I'm not feeling the story.
What happened to Supergirl and the Omega Titans at the end of #1?
The heroes (and villains) starting out on Colu this issue gave me a bit of jetlag.
Felt like I missed an issue somewhere.
And when Ollie said that 'there was no one else', did he really try? I mean, really?
No Doom Patrol, no Frankenstein, no Blackhawks, no Secret Six, no Flash Rogues, no nobody?
Seems Brainiac and Waller both went to the same class of 'How to abduct hundreds of people quick enough to be backstory in a current plot'.
It does seem that Zatanna's magic speak is right this issue, but I just couldn't get past the heroes being so chummy with the villains. Especially Batman and Lobo.
    I'm dropping this one.

I’m already in withdrawal for Doom Patrol
I’ll give Swampy a chance but I doubt it will be a worthy substitute
