    (Keeping this strictly X-related, considering)

I fell in love with Blink back when I read the novelization of the Phalanx Convenant, before I even really knew comics existed. But when I eventually came across back issues of the Age of Apocalypse event, that love was sealed forever. Particularly:

It was such a "**** YEAH!" moment.

I do remember, though, back in the old AOL Marvel message board days people accusing Lobdell of creating an "OP character" who shouldn't be able to take on Holocaust solo. Ah, fandom.

The team CC + PMS from early 80's clearly blew many of us' minds

It made Scott tragic, heroic, and sympathetic all at the same time. It also made him seem very adult--a man who'd lived enough to have accumulated some serious mileage. As someone who prefers his protagonists competent, honorable, and tough, but weathered and weary, I loved that.
    Wholeheartedly agreed.

Storm is my favorite character. For me, her most powerful character moment was when she finally came to terms with being powerless:
    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/R3B56WyXmMM...sfsBZU1F=s1600

"I have no powers. My body cannot fly, but I no longer mind, for in my heat and soul, where it truly matters, I soar higher than the stars."

While I NEVER want to see powerless Storm again, this moment of epiphany was powerful.

As far as the other part about Storm's most powerful moment in terms of superhuman abilities, there are four instances that kind of tie for me:

    From Uncanny X-Men 147:

    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/GDZ_cnSgg0H...OKArgqpR=s1600
"Do no run, Doom, it is a wasted effort. No place can hide you from my wrath, no power or entity can protect you."
    and
"Am I not beautiful, Lord Doom? And terrible? Do you not fear me? You should. You shall."

    Uncanny X-Men 165:

    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/Z7nv4mGSzvE...nfYvtl8v=s1600

    'Nuff said!

Storm vs. The Trion (Storm defeats three beings who are the sum of all matter, life, and energy for an entire reality's past, present, and future)

Storm vs. Adversary in Black Panther #172:

    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q6a7Szgkh4...600/RCO021.jpg

Black Panther speaking as Storm is about to unleash: "How does a man, a king even, defeat a god? With a bigger god."

T'challa continues to proclaim Storm's greatness: "Only you, Hadiro Yao, the Walker of Clouds, are powerful enough to stop him...the faith is more than any mutation. It is the gift of godhead passed down from your ancestors. Claim the gift."

Not done yet, T'challa then says this about Storm: "Let this be the hour when gods again stalk the land. The hour of Storm."

HOT DIGGITY. All of that is enough to put me on shouting grounds!

I have no scans, but I want to post pictures of Skin fighting a dragon in Generation X. Because that's kind of Angelo in a nutshell. Always outgunned, outclassed and with the short end of the stick, but with enough chutzpah to take on any bully.

A toast to Vegan Daddy's moments (again, CC in middle eighties + great artists as Bolton or BWS).

Cable going toe-to-toe with both Bishop and Logan and holding his own...

Cable taking down Stryfe by sacrificing himself...

Two awesome moments that made me a Cable fan.

This is still one of my favorite issues, not to mention one of my favorite covers. Andy Kubert's phenomenal.

This the issue where he slaps around Creed...

Staying with Creed I will say this one is nice too because it showed us how deeply flawed Gambit could be as a character (aka depth). As a late teen he successfully seduced a woman just to steal from her and when she got wrapped up with Creed who also wanted the same thing, he allowes her to die to save his brother who was also being held by Creed. He was holding them over the ledge of a building by two ropes. He made Gambit choose.
Yeah!!! Gambit 5 by Nicieza is very good. X-Men 33 is my fave story.

I grew into the Cyclops fandom slowly over time, but this moment jumped out at me as freaking awesome the second I read it.

How amazing is that sequence? Cyclops basically tells the Celestials to back the heck off, and they do. Man, the Extinction Team era was pure gold.

This is not exactly the first moment I came to love the character actually it's kind of the third or fourth. But he has special significance for me Scott is one of those characters who has a target in the back his whole life was marked by losses and tragedies with his wife and son, even so he fought for a dream and his friends, saw his species almost be decimated, took a difficult position to protect themselves knowing that he would be hated, he bet everything in Hope and when he became a God still tried to help humanity only to have their wings melted when trying to reach the Sun and take the life of their adoptive father.

He was arrested, hated by his friends, the greatest heroes in the world who never did anything for the mutants and the authorities called him a Terrorist. Even so there he is standing doing what he always did protecting mutants. After AvX was afraid that Scott never recovers himself though fortunately this did not happen.

I have my problems with Bendis but will never forget this moment:

    Cyclops Speech.jpg

Even if the world and everyone can hate Scott I will always love him.
