This meant that he was only going to grow weaker as the fight progressed, placing him at an even steeper disadvantage than he was already at.

The ki ball she pressed against his shield did its work, blowing through it and sending the chef flying headfirst toward one of the Lookout's trees. In a fit of quick thinking, however, he reached out and grabbed hold of the tree, letting his momentum spin him around and place him in position to rocket toward her. A maneuver and decision she would have punished had the optic blast from before not struck her in the back.

    How?!

It missed, but somehow hit her?! It must have ricocheted off something while she was distracted. Clever. However, in doing so, she got the blast's measure. When it passed by her the first time, Observational Focus caught its frequency. She also noted the means by which he fired it. Unfortunately, she didn't catch how he managed to ricochet it, but that could be assessed later.

    Observations to be utilized later.

When hit from behind, she was pushed forward, right into Zaofan's waiting arms.

Strangely, she didn't struggle. She wanted to see what he could do. They both knew he was then too weak to hold her if she didn't want him to.

OOC: Zaofan has been afflicted with Ki Nullification. He loses 6,000 PL points every post for ten posts. He's lost 12,000 thus far. 8 posts remain

She noted that Dash had made her way to the Plaza finally. She told her at dawn, and she was late.

She would punish her once she saw what Zaofan had in store for her.

Something was wrong. Despite flying at her at top speed, Zaofan could feel that he wasn't flying as fast as he could, either. His arms didn't feel as strong as they did before; worse yet, the rest of the body began to feel sluggish.

How am I this tired this early? Is it because I haven't had breakfast yet?!

However, seeing Parsley's body knocked forward according to plan, Zaofan angles his flight up just a bit, quickly and suddenly lifting her off the ground, noticing that she doesn't move. His arms getting weaker at a time when she was already stronger than him at his full strength, he instead tosses her, hand over hand, sending her into a spinning corkscrew spiral, heading out of the Lookout.

His body rapidly getting weaker, he resorts, not just to power, but to other abilities instead. "RUBY TAIYOKEN!" The ruby solar flare aims to disable her sight and leave her somewhat similarly handicapped.

Oh what the heck, he does resort to power after all. "Optic blast!" While she still spins while bathed in essentially the second dawn of the Lookout, she is then pelted with a steady stream of red concussive energy; but the initial point of contact is slightly weaker than the blast to her back just a few moments earlier, and the beam itself likewise gets weaker the longer it stays on her.

How...? How am I this winded...?! At this rate I won't be able to afford to risk close-quarters combat with her!

Wait, there's Dash! Maybe that's it! We raced in the Badlands once in a test of speed, but I didn't even use Mara's training on her!

As she was tossed, Parsley could sense that Zaofan was getting weaker by the moment. It was then, at this moment of unquestioned disadvantage, that she would see what he was made of. He didn't give up or grow frustrated -- at least outwardly -- that was a good sign.

An even better sign was the blinding flash of light that was emitted from his eyes. Similar to Corona Flash, the area was filled with a bright crimson light that stole her eyesight from her.

To a lesser fighter, this would have disorienting as well as discombobulating. A lesser warrior would have been thrown off her game and left wide open to a follow-up attack. Not Parsley. Her sight was taken from her, but her ki sense was as sharp as ever. Something for her to keep in mind for her own attack of this caliber.

She could still sense Zaofan, and sensed the optic blast hurtling her way until it collided with her body. Its power was significantly less than optimal and was waning by the second. Even know, she was able to brace against it and right herself enough to raise her hand against the grain. A shimmering mirror of ki, Ultra Reflection, appeared and reflected the beam back at Zaofan.

Whether it hit or not was irrelevant. She just needed moment to think back to the optic blast he fired at her earlier. It was a technique and method of implementation that she had never once tried before. And yet, the process of firing it clicked through her head, one step after the other. Her ki was cycling through her body. Almost, but not yet.

She dashed toward him, taking off at speeds that far exceeded his. As she flew, her hand skimmed the surface of the Lookout, triggering a tangle of energy vines seeking wrap themselves around his arms and legs.

Zaofan cuts off his beam and ducks at the last possible second to avoid his own power reflected back at him, but the act causes him to delay, unable to dodge the energy vines streaming through the floor and capturing his limbs. Worse yet, he sees Parsley.

Oh great. Now it's HER turn to charge! My, how the turntables...wait, no.

Struggling against this new energy form, Zaofan fires a steady stream of Optic energy that ricochets from one limb to the next, until a single beam hits all four, shorting out the energy vines in cackle of red, white, and yellow energy.

Just as Parsley is about to make contact, Zaofan drops down to the ground, landing hard on his back and Parsley brushing his hair. But he juts both feet up, double kicking Parsley's torso as she flies overhead, sending her up.

Pausing to look at his handi-, um, footwork, he notes the aches in his thighs. Whatever it is that's weakening me, it made kicking her feel like kicking a rock wall! I have to compensate somehow!

Regardless, he gathers as much strength as he can in his legs and jumps right up to Parsley, aiming his right foot in an upward jump kick. Normally he wouldn't use this move in a sparring session, but with his rapidly-decreasing power levels, she was sure to survive such an attack, should it land. "PRESSURE KICKER!" His foot flares up in crimson energy, aiming to deliver a follow-up concussive kick while she's in flight.

The Lookout's kitchen was - as a matter of course - the room that saw the most use in the short span of the Guardian Evangeline's active stewardship over her charge. What once was a neglected heap a scant year ago was uncovered, revived from its derelict confines by the needs of hungry talent and no doubt scoured clean by the very same. With variant tastes and even more voracious appetites, every square inch from pantry store to knife block had scarcely seen a moment's rest where sustenance was needed to fuel the battles to come.

Yet there was on occasion that rare moment, where the tools were laid to rest, the counters swept clean, and yesterday's roiling pots and sizzling pans lay ready to use rather than congealing in the sink. In these moments, even so turbulent a place can become as if a reprieve, and in this ordered arrangement humble ingredients silently awaited patient craft.

A large ceramic pot sat alone atop the long burn of a flame, hissing where small, savory bubbles broke the seal of its hollow lid - the only noise in the place besides that fire which burned over smokeless charcoals that never seemed to exhaust themselves beneath the corner element. Moments passed and the small murmurs gradually rang in a small clatter of heavy ceramic clashing. The savory exhale gradually filled the upper chamber with the heady aroma: stock, vegetable hearts, a fishy body dampened with just a hint of liquor.

Emerging from the kitchen stores, Ochazuke returned to his quiet labour with some additions; a large pot filled to the brim with resting rice, a ginger root, and a whole chicken splayed unceremoniously upon the cutting board. Pulling a small knife without distinction from the block, he turned the bird around inspecting it for a moment.

He turned the knife around and struck a leg near the knob, the bird's bone breaking clean where it set in its skin. Wordlessly he set to his task without distraction.

His power dipped even more, and as such, his ingenuity grew more desperate. He managed to free himself and avoided her reckless charge by ducking down. The next instant, what amounted to a light tap sent her flying upward. She was still in control, but the move gave him some time to think of what to do next. She knew that he knew that she would reflect any long-range attack, leaving him with only close range combat. As she was in the air, that meant he would have to jump after her.

As predicted, he did. His foot led, imbued with scarlet energy. Should such a technique have landed, it would have amounted to a love tap at worst. If it landed. Parsley hadn't even begun to put for her usual effort. In fact, she had been going easy on him the entire time. It was time to ramp things up a little.

She waited until he crossed the midway point between herself and the Lookout plaza before cycling her ki in a way she had never done before. Focusing her energy on her eyes, she waited for the right moment to strike. It came when his foot was caught by her two hands. The impact was solid, but it allowed her to grab hold of him.

Then, she put her uncanny talents to good use.

    Prodigy's Gift - Perfect Mockery

She smirked. "Optic Blast!" A beam of crimson energy erupted out of her eyes, providing a new sensation that was neither painful nor particularly pleasant. At this range, however, there was no way for Zaofan to dodge.

When Sarada finished the meager meal left for her by her sister - she was starting to think Parsley did still care about her - she left to change her clothes into something more to her love's liking - in other words, skimpy with a lot of lace. She was just about to the bedroom to grab her things when the smell of cooking rice and meat wafted into her nose. She was still hungry, so her stomach growled with anticipation. Zaofan must be cooking, she thought excitedly.

Upon returning to the kitchen, however, she found not Zaofan, but Ochazuke. Oh.

"...it smells good in here," she stated, unnecessarily announcing her presence. "I'm not going to ask for any." She was starving, but she knew better than to ask someone else for some of their food. She could always go hunting later.

    "Wait, that's *MY* sch-IIIIIITTT!"

The combination of his leg caught and the sheer surprise of his move being copied is enough to catch Zaofan off-guard, taking the brunt of the beam head on, and sending him crashing hard to the ground, hard enough to shake the Lookout.

He lies on his chest, his hands struggle to place his palms flat on the ground, as he does a slight push-up to get himself back up. His head parallel to the ground, he coughs up a small amount of blood.

That's MY move! *I* invented that! Okay, accidentally, but still! No one's ever replicated it before! Urgghh!

He wills himself against gravity and his own weakness to stand up, looking right at Parsley, blood still coming down the corner of his mouth. He wipes that corner clean, and refocuses his eyes to remove the dizzy spell. He senses her ki to compensate for the dizziness. She's now twice his strength, or he's fallen to half her strength. Whatever, he chooses to be optimistic nonetheless. Taking a deep breath, he says out loud, in between deeper breaths, defiantly: "I can... do this... all day!" Zaofan brings up his fists, forearms crossed in front of his face, and throws his fists down by his waist, powering up in a white aura of ki in an attempt to regain some lost strength and rededicate his focus.

She's good. She's strong, she's fast, and she's a kami-damned prodigy. This is what I asked for. But that doesn't mean I'm done yet!

While in his white aura, energy rippling upward, he finally decides, for once, not to charge at her. Instead, he digs in his feet, maintains line of sight with Parsley above, and assumes his kata once more.

Default Tatenen Lives ! Pt. 1: Rememberance

    Approximately 5,120 Years Ago, Tatenen:

The Lasair, known in the common tongue as 'Emberheart', could not help but feel that this particular period of 'wakefulness' -- though the Sun was fading now -- had been a very good one.

Dealings with the Khosians, Luar, and the Avesians had gone quite well, the bonds that had been forged many cycles previous affirmed; with more bonds still to reinforce, with talks of adding two more species -- both the Elemanti, as Emberheart's own were known as, as well as the aforementioned Avesians -- to the waxing strength of Moonsworn. So it was that as the Lasair -- the name for its own 'tribe' -- slowly returned to its smolder den, it did so with what approximated a smile, embers gently dancing in a facsimile of mortal expressiveness; as it considered which tribe might be selected first should the talks trend as well as was hoped.

Perhaps the Dancers of Uisce ? Or even the Nomads of Gaoth ? Their anamacha as mercurial as their form, and yet ever so graceful. Emberheart mused, not paying much mind to the blades of grass set alight by its lackadaisical wanderings. Or perhaps the Wardens of Cloch, or the Ever-Verdant Adhmad ? They are after all, possessed of anamacha unyielding and ancient. The Lasair continued, well and truly now lost in its considerations. Or the hot-blooded Lasair, Emberheart wondered then, thoughts turning toward its own kith and kin. Possessed as we are of an anamacha that treads well between the grace of the Uisce, and Gaoth; and yet unflinching in resolve as the Cloch, and Adhmad themselves ... the young Elemanti slowed to a crawl then, as it thought of something. There are yet several others ... this will necessitate a Cruinniú.

The Lasair sighed -- a sound of crackling that emanated from its 'mouth' -- as it realized what all that entailed.

All of the members of its race would be required to attend. Those aforementioned races -- the Uisce, Gaoth, Cloch, Adhmad, and Lasair -- and those races who were small in number or well and truly lost within the recesses of their demesne. A shudder ran up the spine of the Elemanti as thought of one of the 'Lost' in particular. A newer spawn of Elemanti, cloaked in a roiling black mist that whispered with forgotten things.

    The Neamhní.

Perhaps this would not be such a ... wonderful thing.

    What if they are chos-

The thoughts were stymied as a swift wind picked up, buffeting Emberheart as he stood in atop a felled tree, in the Elder Woods; a thing impossible had he not known the source. A Gaoth -- though unknown by name -- that continued to whip around the Lasair until it raised one smoldering arm in greeting.

    This boded ill ...

    'Greetings, cousin !'
Emberheart offered, crackling in its native tongue. Have simply stopped in greeting ?

The Gaoth slowed, but did not stop, as it replied in its own, 'Tidings, tidings, borne on wind from distant swells ! The Wind-Aspect offered, in its sing-song whispering. 'Ilargi is burning ! The Moonsworn, shattered, by their own hand no less !' The wind picked up once more, once the Gaoth finished its initial gust, and a wave of faded embers rippled across Emberheart's front ... though the silence did not last over long.

What ?! How is that possible ?'

The Gaoth rippled, 'They lashed out at the High Priestess, and stole from her the winds of life ! With the suddenness of a squall, her mourning seeks a reckoning !' With that offered, then, the Elemanti disappeared, shooting past its Lasair cousin in a sudden gust that caused Emberheart's fire to sputter.

And then the Fire-Aspect was alone.

    ...

It was too much to think, that the Order had fallen. There was no knowing the truth of the Gaoth's words -- offered as they were in a whirlwind of surprise -- and yet this did not seem the thing to fake ... not after the meeting that had transpired this cycle. Yet what did that mean for the world below the burning moon ?

    ...

    It did not know.

Though in the end, such concerns would matter little; at least where the Lasair Emberheart, was concerned.

    CRACK-

With a sound unheard by any alive, a massive spiderweb of cracks appeared on the surface of Ilargi, before the force of its sundering flattened the trees around Emberheart. Yet before the Lasair -- or any alive on the surface of Tatenen -- could react, the moon broke apart, and large silvers and shards of the thing seemed to grow larger against the backdrop of stars.

A question sprang then, to Emberheart's 'lips'; and in the end, it would prove the Lasair's final words.

    Is Ilargi ... falling ?

It was a question it would never hear answered, as not ten seconds later the first shards of the shattered Ilargi touched down ...

Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Default Tatenen Lives ! Pt. 2: From the Ashes

    Now, Tatenen

Ever since the Sundering of Ilargi, and its subsequent fall from the heavens, the planet below was much changed.

When the shards first made landfall, the impacts alone served to wipe out most biological forms of life on the planet; the fires alone raging with enough strength to burn all around for miles, and miles to ash. Yet the immediate aftermath did the most damage ...

With the size of the shards that struck Tatenen's seas, and landmass, what coastal cities that were not immediately annihilated were washed away by miles-high tsunami; and those cities near the volcanically active areas were swept away by rivers of magma enough to fill an ocean ... and yet this was not end of it, no.

What was not burned or immediately annihilated by the impacts and the global upheaval that resulted in its wake, and those few souls who survived long enough; were made to witness it as plumes of smoke, and clouds of debris blotted out the sun. So it was that most plant-life above ground, withered and died, and along with it the remaining livestock. Those who survived this long then -- a span of time no less than three solar years -- were consumed by strife and chaos, turning on each other with the desire to only persevere ... survive ... though in the end such struggles were pointless.

For there was yet more suffering in store.

Bereft of balance -- a small, yet vital function of Ilargi's presence -- Tatenen's axis was upended, and in the years after the world was wracked with weather shifts as sudden as they were disastrous. The poles would shift, and melt ... and drown the land; the equators freezing in response; and after some years of this would revert. A cruel cycle set to extinguish all remnants of those who had struggled on this long ... and it succeeded.

So in the end, not five centuries after the Sundering of Ilargi; there was nothing left of Tatenen, but a ruined world bereft of all who had once called it home.

    Or rather ...

That had seemed, to be the case.

Some one-thousand years after life had been seemingly expunged, a race of sapient beings emerged from the remnants of the world, to take their place as the last living on Tatenen. Eschewing former allegiances to kith and kin, the eleven tribes banded together under a single banner, and name -- once spoken in a common tongue long forgotten -- 'Elemanti'. Though there were those who stood apart, still.

As the world died, eleven individuals found themselves forming a compact with a member of the Elemanti -- Uisce, Gaoth, Lasair, Cloch, Gaineamh, Adhmad, Oighear, Criostalach, Tintreach, Solas, Neamhní -- and in a manner so strangely similar to the Ennead of times long-gone, established themselves as the 'Archons'. Though when the world continued to sputter, and whither, and die; so too it seemed, did these Archon ... and for five thousand years they remained 'dead', even as the other Elemanti banded together and began the slow work of reclaiming what was lost.

Though a year ago, something strange seemed to happen.

The Archons pried themselves from hidden haunts, to walk Tatenen once more, and when their might had been restored they set about the task of finishing what their lesser kin -- the Elemanti of Eleven Tribes -- had started ... seemingly in preparation for something's, or someone's return.

    ------

In a crystalline room, the Eleven stood.

All were silent, ever-watching, yet at last the Eldest spoke. Its voice no more than a whisper, yet it shifted and seemed to groan as if it the very floor it was giving way.

'By my reckoning, it has been five-thousand, one hundred and ... twenty solar-cycles, since the Sundering. We have come far, in so short an expanse.'

There was a murmuring -- sounds of waves against stone, a crackling fire, and creaking lumber the strongest -- as the other ten, offered their agreement. 'By my reckoning, as well ... what prised us us from our slumber was the same cacophonous anamacha which ushered in the death of two worlds.' Another murmur, to follow the first. Though ... this time came with it a distant rippling of anger.

The Eldest lifted its arm, to silence its kin.

'I must confession it is a .. curious development. Yet I feel such ... thoughts, of retribution are unnecessary. We persist. We thrive. For now such is enough, by my understanding.
The response this time, was perhaps more vocal, with the Youngest -- the Archon of Lasair -- stepping forward.

'Thrive ? This world is a ruin, our kith and kin bitter echoes of what once was. We would have our own reckoning. We would hunt.'

The Eldest -- the Archon of Criostalach -- simply raised its arms.

    'Silence.'

A sigh like shattering glass escaped the Archon's lips, as it wondered a moment, before it offered again in its whispered cascade of shifting crystal,

'In time perhaps you will have your reckoning, but I would know the truth of things first. For now you will do nothing.'
The Youngest stepped forward as if to challenge, before a clear note rang out -- a warning ... or growl -- and the Archon stepped back, 'eyes' toward the floor.

    'Understood.'

'That is all. Return to your kin. We will speak again soon.'

The Ten quickly filtered out, some floating through the ceiling, some shifting through walls or simply -- as was the case of the Younger -- pierced the crystalline veil, leaving only the Eldest ... and for a moment, the Archon let slip another 'sigh'. Even had it cared for the reckoning sought by the Younger; there was no knowing if the cause of their current 'world', would return ... and there was no sense in wasting precious light, and life raging against a could be.

So for now all one could do, is watch and wait. Perhaps the chance for answers -- and reckoning -- would reveal itself, in time. For was that not one thing left to them ?
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Default The well intentional but misguided Guardian

this happens at The Gukraimano on Planet Qacriea.

in her chambers Zykona is putting her crystal ball back together and then frantically searches around for something saying " huh where is it." " my invention won't work with out that piece." " wait he took it didn't he." " why is brother doing this to me I just want to help."

outside Demjir crushes a small high tech chip saying " sorry sis but some one has to keep you in line even if that some one has to be your own brother." back in her chambers Zykona laughs and then says " well no matter brother thinks he's pretty smart, but he seems to have forgotten that I'm the one with the brains." " I really don't like it with brother calls me a fool and scolds me." " I'm not a fool I just want to be helpful."

" he scold me over brain washing the Toadians with a brain washing spell in the form of commandments that activate when said commandments were cited when I first became the Guardian of Qacriea 2,000 years ago. " " however because of my brain washing the Toadians have been able to live in peace among each other and no wars have ever broken out between them." " so in a way it was a good thing right, but my brother doesn't think so." "he even scold me for hide all evidence that Qacriea first Guardian ever exist tell me that was wrong."

"Huh but why should the Toadians remember that there was some one before me who was a native of their planet ?" " why should they remember Doxal ? " " they don't need to remember him and all they need is me and no one else." Zykona is looking for a book saying " ah here it is found it."

" just the book I was looking for." " brother thinks he smart smashing my crystal ball and take the device that makes it work. " " however I don't need that crystal ball not when I have this spell book!" " now let's see ah yes here it is the omnidirectional surveillance spell!"

" this spell will let me see what's happen in different locations in every direction at the same time." " with this spell I can see what's happen on multiple planets." " Zykona starts cited the words of the spell and before her a giant eye made of energy appears and as she looks though it she sees various planets include earth saying " yes it works now I can continue my surveillance." " brother says to this is wrong ,but I only just conduct surveillance on other planets where ." " how is that so wrong?"

Zykona sees invention of Qaztoh's that catch her eye as she looks at Earth's Lookout through her spell saying " huh what's this Project Overlord ?!?" " hmm that Toadian Princess seems to have create blue prints for a globe mind control device." " maybe I could use that instead of just making it globe ." " I can make it so that such device would be able to control beings on another planets not just one world."

" yeah with that device like that I could being a end to all war and everyone could live in peace." " however brother wouldn't let me build such a device he would say that it's wrong and that it's not my job to go around acting like I'm some almighty goddess." " of course I need to start small." " how about I create that device and tested it on the Replita!"

Dash wasn't certain HOW Parsley was doing this to Zaofan, but she did recognize the effects, being that Meagan could do something similar. She could sense his power levels dropping, and could see how the Saiyan was mimicing his favoroote techniques. The question on her mind was, does she help Zaofan out, or would that defeat the purpose of the training?

Reluctant to risk breaking his concentration, still she had to ask, calling out "Hey, Zaofan! Do you need some help?"

Demjir is outside of Zykona and he's everything saying " I can't allow her to build such a device it isn't right." " I know Zykona doesn't like it when a I scold her but I'm doing it for her own good." " as her brother I have made a vow to protector not just from those who want to do harm to her , but from herself." " maybe I'm a little too hard on her."

" she means well, but her beliefs are misguide." " I and Zykona are the only ones left of our species." " our planet Konats was devasting by war and are species the Konatsians were bought to the brink of extinction. " " only I and my sister were spare same fate as our species thanks to the Supreme Kai."

"so my sister is the only person I have in this vast cosmos. " " that's why I'm tough on her because I care about her." " she's my sister and I don't want to see her go down a dark path due to her misguidance." so as her tough but caring brother I will continue to protect my sister Zykona even from herself."

"....Help him with what....What is going up over here..." Etrina muttered with irritation, tea cup still in hand and the look of a lady who had been caught just getting out of bed. If the lack of Zaofan cooking when she passed by the kitchen wasn't an indication something was up, the randomly spiking and then weakening of his PL on the lookout seemed to indicate he was either training or doing something else equally stressful.

Instead, it looks like he was in a mock fight with Parsley, the saiyan she had left her blue foci too.

"ohh....I see....." The mage took a sip of her tea. "Sparring.....Honestly..."

Seeing Etrina, Dash felt a wave of unease which she quickly squashed. "Morn' Lady Etrina. Don'ca think he's doing well against the Princess? He's probably already the strongest human on the planet. Can't stay that way without working at it."

"Now if you'l excuse me, ah have to give a demo on teamwork."

With that Dash sprinted over to Zaofan.

Dash's blue aura flared up as she reached out to him, "Zaofan! Let's show her how fast we are." As she approached, she activated Binding Friendship which doubles each of their power levels and combines their powers. As she did, a whirlwind formed around Dash (Accelerator + Pegasus Summons the Whirlwind) as her speed increased, as she blitzed Parsley. The wind she generated pushed hard against the Saiyan.
