Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

Midori followed the group almost catatonically as she stared at Jinzi in shock, trying to make sense of everything. They'd somehow managed to go 20 years in the future. Apparently a post-apocalyptic future with tyrannical robot death troopers patrolling the surface while the rebellion hid underground.
"Wah-buh-bluh-" Midori muttered, still staring at Jinzi as she tried to articulate her words.
"I believe Midori is trying to ask "HOW?!" Shiro said, Midori nodding and pointing at Shiro.

After watching the others inject themselves with the strange silvery liquid, Ishtar sighs, and injects herself with the 'Nanomat Cocktail'.
A moment passes, and then the golden-eyed Oni feels it as her divergent energies begin to slowly well inside of her; and for a moment there is a familiar discordance. Such does not last long however, another testament- if small- that the Oni had returned to form after her departure. So with a slow exhale, Ishtar takes another moment to look over her prosthetic limb before being feeling somewhat satisfied.
And at the very least, if her energy was to find itself again suppressed by these Nanomachines; there was at least the knowledge that her magic- and that of Nevanlinne, and presumably Etrina's- would continue to work as intended.
There was a moment where Ishtar considered that this, Nevanlinne, might know more about their would-be-murderers than was being let on. Yet at the least she had proven herself useful, and was not otherwise untoward- despite the borderline haughtiness- and so such notions were shelved for the time being.
Instead the Oni simply blinked before saying:
"You are rather well-versed in the use of magic, it would seem. It was rather nice to see."
Ishtar nods at Jinzi's words, before taking a quick look at the stock of what supplies could be found here, if they were to move shortly, it would at the least be wise to take would prove most useful.Jinzi sighs and sits down.
“We will leave again in a minute. This isn’t safe. I’ll take you to the actual HQ. I can tell the tale better there.”

Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Meagan opens it to reveal the group.
Jinzi turns and his eyes widen in shock.
“Meagan?”

When the world went white and everything changed, Adam was inside Capsule Corp. It's reduction to rubble was...unexpected. No visible survivors, no intact technology. No reason to stay. Reaching out, it senses the part of itself still inside Midori, and knows she is functional. But it also gives Adam a direction. Lifting off, it flies towards Capitol City. It can of course detect the nanites in the air, it's made of nanites, and disabling the intruders is a simple matter, a few million impacting it's surface is nothing compared to the trillion trillions it is made from.
================================================== ===============================
Arriving in the city, Adam quickly discovers the remains of the machines. It probes their structure, seeking memory cores to examine. Signs of battle, the machines had surrounded someone, but were fired at from another position. An intervention? Analysis of the ambient nanites revealed their purpose, suppressing bioenergy. Midori and Shiro would be vulnerable. It had to pause and remember that organics would also be in danger. It adopts the form of the robots, a disguise in case it should encounter one.
================================================== ================================
Adam's body flows through the grate, the tracks had been clear enough. Multiple individuals, moving quickly. Underground, it could hear voices. Sarada, Ishtar, Jack, some unknowns, but non hostile. Ahead, it sees an open vault door. Someone says a name, Meagan. She speaks in turn, Jinzi. So, whatever happened, he had survived. Adam walks to the vault door, still in it's disguise as one of the robots.

Before she could take it, someone or something came up behind her....
In her hand she now held her sword, the one made from her cloak, and she pointed it at Adam. As she did, she sensed something familiar, so she did not act, nor did she move.
