Dragonball M, Chapter 2: Lighthouse! Across the Shores of Shattered Time!

They shared the pain of her lost tail, the trauma resonating even more now that Ishtar herself had a tail. The thought of the same fate befalling her beloved Oni brought a wave of dread that was quickly stamped down by the urgency of the moment. The blue woman would be fine, even if she did suffer the same attack Sarada herself had. The pain would be multiplied even more, if such a thought came to pass, but pain was nothing but a mental reaction to sudden stimuli. It was nothing that couldn't or shouldn't be ignored when the situation called for it.

And this situation definitely called for it.

Sarada's plan was accepted. All they needed was for Chris to be visible when Ishtar cast said spell and for Sarada to be ready to pounce on him. 'Understood. I'll be ready.' She was about to head for cover so she could prepare herself when



"Damn it. Coward! Your cover is blown so you run away!!"

Damn this bastard and damn his demonic gun. As long as he was invisible, Ishtar wouldn't be able to pin him down long enough for Sarada to sever the arm holding that gun. As long as those two things were true, he couldn't be beaten. They had to figure out how to disrupt his camouflage; and it seemed that Ochazuke had done exactly that once. He needed to do it again, and quickly, or they'd lose a lot more than a tail.

"Sarada!" Etrinas voice called out from nearby. The Mage was a little slower then the others in getting to the lookout and was trying to get a grasp of the situation, and the very first point of contention was Sarada had somehow managed to lose her tail already. Given the situation couldn't afford any loss in strength on their side, The mage made her way quickly over to the Sayian girl. "....You need to invest in some tail protection. Having a weak point tied to your battle power is getting to be a liability. Hold still a moment..."

Etrina attempted to channel temporal energy into the region to reverse time on the damage area.

[Sub-Zero MKA]

"Sarada!" Etrinas voice called out from nearby. The Mage was a little slower then the others in getting to the lookout and was trying to get a grasp of the situation, and the very first point of contention was Sarada had somehow managed to lose her tail already. Given the situation couldn't afford any loss in strength on their side, The mage made her way quickly over to the Sayian girl. "....You need to invest in some tail protection. Having a weak point tied to your battle power is getting to be a liability. Hold still a moment..."

Etrina attempted to channel temporal energy into the region to reverse time on the damage area.

Etrina arrived, just like Sarada hoped she would, and started to manipulate time to bring her tail back. A few minutes ago, she would have been pleased and let her do her work. Now, she was more reticent.

Still, more power would do nothing but help, even if that power came with a bull's-eye. "Okay, but hurry."

[Lord Falcon]

Slak is there with him, as is Chuan.

“We’ll take care of them.”

Chuan nods to the Namekians’ words as they start moving the three carefully, but quickly, away. Midori and Shiro helping them.


Jack meanwhile has his knife out and glares, stepping next to Ochazuke as he keeps his eyes on Chris.

“Plan?”

Chris, meanwhile, vanishes in a flare of light. Ochazuke, however, can track him even while hidden by bent space once more. Chris appeared to be heading towards the edge of the Lookout.

For a time, Asha'rah had feared the worst. That Evangeline had fallen, spirited away by whatever power had claimed Arthur. That she had come back to Earth only to witness another Kami perish, the Guardian system another inch closer to total collapse. That a girl had endured so much and won, only to die unceremoniously in an ambush months later.

But her fears were allayed when a shot rang out, danger though it signaled. Chris the Knife was here, continuing to hide himself, but so were Evangeline, Kai and Nunlil. Sarada went down, her tail severed, but Etrina moved to help her. That would be enough. Chris had something far more important than anyone had originally thought. Within his palm was a fallen demon, reduced to weaponized form. It was time to relieve him of possession of it.

And punish him for his temerity.

Golden light surged around her, coalescing into countless tiny glowing balls, details taking shape even as Ochazuke prepared to rip the curtain away from their foe.

Looking up, his eyes angry now as Banefire rises up, both hands come into play as the offhand slams the gun’s hammer back.

“Fan the Trigger!”

One hand slamming the hammer back repeatedly, the other pulling the trigger, seven shots blast out in incredible speeds. One aimed at taking Totoma in the tail, one each at Midori and Shiro at their heads. Another two at Ochazuke and two at Asha’rah.

He quickly pops the gun open and uses a quick reload to replenish his ammo.

One hand slamming the hammer back repeatedly, the other pulling the trigger, seven shots blast out in incredible speeds. One aimed at taking Totoma in the tail, one each at Midori and Shiro at their heads. Another two at Ochazuke and two at Asha’rah.

He quickly pops the gun open and uses a quick reload to replenish his ammo.

"So fast! But why?!" P-Sta thought aloud as each blast rang out. "Oh, right! Gun magoc!" Instinctively, he dived in the way in his Katchin Mode to try and shield his allies, attempting to block the blast from hitting whoever was closest to him. "

Meagan was ready for this. As fast as the shots rang out, she threw out deflection shields in front of each blast.

As she did, using an old trick with an twist, her cloak suddenly appeared out of nowhere - wrapping it's self around Chris' hands to keep him from firing any more shots.

Just two moments behind P-Sta, Zaofan swings Bojack to attempt to deflect another bullet...

Meagan was ready for this. As fast as the shots rang out, she threw out deflection shields in front of each blast.

As she did, using an old trick with an twist, her cloak suddenly appeared out of nowhere - wrapping it's self around Chris' hands to keep him from firing any more shots.

...and with Chris needing to reload his gun and the cloak aimed for his hands, Zaofan fires a quick optic blast with the purpose of knocking the gun out of the Knife's grip.

Meagan’s intercept saves P-sta some pain as, even with it partially redirected, the bullet still strikes and blasts P-sta off the Lookout.

Zaofan’s attempt to bat one away also causes his staff to be blasted out of his hands. It also causes him to miss in his blast at Chris.

Meagan, you find redirecting the shots incredibly difficult. Most punch through and are just slowed down instead, though your cloak does wrap around his hands.

Meagan’s intercept saves P-sta some pain as, even with it partially redirected, the bullet still strikes and blasts P-sta off the Lookout.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaah!" P-Sta shouted in alarm, beginning to think that the magic in this gun was nothing to trifle with.

"This darned assassin...." P-Sta shook his head ad the shock wore off. "I'll show him what for!" P-Stay halted his fall and redirected himself in a charge back up towards the lookout.

Once there he aimed to fly low with a tackle at the assassin's ankles, to knock him off balance.

Zaofan’s attempt to bat one away also causes his staff to be blasted out of his hands. It also causes him to miss in his blast at Chris.

The gun, apparently, was powerful enough to ironically turn the tables on Zaofan. His intent to disarm had disarmed him instead. With a mighty clang, the vibrations from Bojack getting knocked out of Zaofan's hands ring through his fingers, palms, wrists, forearms, and painfully so. "GAH! Strong *and* fast!"

And, frankly, it had been a long, long time since anyone had separated the chef from his staff. Not Battersea, not Fife, not Tomah Goh, not the Nagadarr. Now there's an element of pride. Zaofan rushes Chris amidst all the activity. The chef shakes the vibrations off his arms and hands, flinging them around to shake off the pain.

Meagan, you find redirecting the shots incredibly difficult. Most punch through and are just slowed down instead, though your cloak does wrap around his hands.

"...THAT'S IT."

With Chris' hands wrapped by Meagan's cloak, Zaofan unleashes a flurry of twenty powerful, rapidfire punches, chops, and strikes at high speed, courtesy of the Hokuto Shinken. "RAKAN GEKI!"

Even slowing down the shots gives the others time to react, Meagan knows where her focus needs to be. The cloak binds his hands tight, then yanks them upwards leaving Chris open to attack and unable to use his weapon.

"Attack him now, bind him, seal him, knock him out, whatever it takes to stop him." She calls out to the others.

Ishtar sensed it as much as saw it when Ochazuke's Kongosho stripped away the veil of pulled space, and with Chris the Knife exposed to the open air, the opening that had been hoped for presented itself. Recalling what had happened the last time they met however, the Oni waited yet a moment longer; until it was the Assassin raised Banefire.

There.

As the shots began ringing out across the Lookout's Plaza, Ishtar set Sarada's plan in motion. Extending her hands, the Avestan was offered and immediately drowned out as P-Sta began to wail, and Chris the Knife would feel it as his body was constricted, as Dar-Tanu began locking his arms and feet in place. Yet that was hardly enough, unwilling to risk that the Assassin might manage to worm his way free from being bound, Ishtar followed up her spell with another- one familiar--that had been used on Battersea in much the same way.

"Starapateñti, Paņca."

With the same circle appearing under Chris the Knife, as had appeared under Battersea all those months prior; the pull of gravity surrounding the Assassin skyrocketed. And at this level, perhaps the magic was overkill, yet this man and the otherworldly gun he sported ... in the end Ishtar did not care beyond seeing that they did not escape. Yet to do so required severing the arm.

Reaching out to Sarada then, the golden-eyed Oni made the call.

'He is as locked down, as can be made possible with magic. Go!'

Chris dodges Zaofan and P-sta’s attack’s, all the while Meagan feels great pain at the contact between the cloak and Banefire. Touching the weapon actively hurts the cloak and it will not be capable of holding on much longer.

Meanwhile, Ishtar sees that Banefire’s presence fights off the effects of her two spells. Their hold on Chris is weak at best.

Calling out, "Asha'rah, Isthar, watch my back." Meagan releases the cloak's hold, as she does she reaches out to Chris and initiates Ki-Gestalt, linking her Ki to his in order to take control of him. If it works, she should be able to drain him and shut him down.
