Just as Incenio starts to open his mouth to start talking to Meagan, a cruel smile on place, he stiffens as someone barges in, and forcefully teleports Incenio away suddenly with a power rock chord.

Slamming Sammy Soco stands there, grinning.

    “Need a hand, pretty lady?”

    ———

    Samson looks at Blizzar.

“Sammy just reported in. He managed to get the drop on the Incenio with your friend and teleported him away. He’s helping free her now. We can’t get to the other one, and the one teleported away will be back soon. Meanwhile, Sgt. Meehsas is engaging three security clones outside a bathroom inside the casino proper.”

OOC: So much for Meagan averting the Damsel in distress trope.

IC: As she stands up, the power limiter cuffs fall to the floor, "Thank you for your assistance, that was very impressive. Now I need to get back to the arena and finish what I came here for."

She was sure once they got a hold of them and they got a chance to settle in he wouldn't mind. Besides having them back safe and sound, she truly wanted her father to see how much she not only progressed as a warrior but as a person. Karine was no longer the same person completely of when she first started nor did she think she was done growing yet either.

"I'm..not sure. I would assume it does have shadow qualities but other then that.." Karine shrugged slightly. "Nothing I read really said as much of exact details but when I achieve it we can find out together." Like she mentioned before, she hoped it didn't require something as traumatic like what Totoma had went through; though then again and to be fair power like that was hardly, if ever free. It had to require labor of some kind whether from effort, a emotional trial or both but it wasn't going to come free which that she was almost certain of.

The young vampire yawned slightly. "I think I'm going to try to go to bed early, I'm a bit more tired then I realized.." Karine was about to get to bed before something seemed to go off in her head of hers. Going to the dresser, she grabbed a brush pausing briefly. "I know its been a while but..could you brush my hair?"

It was a tiny thing but she enjoyed the small things like that with them made her day. Just like she did having them close made her feel safe and protected despite all the strength she gained and how she had changed that hadn't. Not at all.

Because one thing had remained the same; despite all Totoma's flaws and everything else in Karine's eyes he'd likely always be her personal hero.
So she was just about as much in the dark about Umbrus Lord as he was. Not surprising, now that he thought about it--after all, it was all myth and legend, like the Super Saiyan form had been... but if anyone could achieve it, it was Kari! And her old man, too.

Then, Karine asked him an... unexpected thing. He wasn't a stranger to brushing her hair, but it had been a while since he'd done so. And he, of course, had no problem doing it. Though... there was something else he wanted to do with her, but Miss Eva would probably flip out if he and Kari did that here, and since Kari seemed pretty tired... well, he'd restrain himself.

    For now.

Accepting the brush, he began, well, brushing... duh. Contrary to his rough appearance, Totoma did so with a certain gentleness. Her long hair was a bit impractical for a warrior, but at the same time, he really loved it. The white-silver color, the silkiness, and how it seemed to naturally curl just at the end... it was great. It also, uh, smelled good.

"It's been a while since we've visited your family. We should take the chance to do that before the next barrage of **** hits the fan," he said as he brushed. "Heck, earlier today, Capital city was attacked, though Parsley, that... toilet monster, a... giant... frog, and I managed to take him down with no casualties. Heh, even managed to deploy that one binding technique I've been working on... worked like a charm."

Sarada stepped into the ring for the final fight of the tournament.

    She was going to win.

There was no doubt in her mind, nor was there any question in the air. At times, there would be this... uncertainty in the air about who was going to win a particular fight. Sure, this person or that person would have their thoughts and opinions, but they were just opinions. There was no surety, nothing beyond the shadow of doubt.

This, however, was different. Charco was a highly impressive fighter; she would be the first to admit that. He was also a reckless fighter; another thing she would be the first to admit. That recklessness was something she intended on taking advantage of. She didn't come this far to lose. No way in hell she was coming away with anything less than victory.

"I'm going to win. Understood?" she stated.

With that said, she got loose.

Then, she dashed forward, fist cocked back and intent on punching him in the face. "Time to rock! Charco!"

"Excellent. Although three against one...those aren't easy odds with these guards. I hope your sergeant can handle it," Blizzar stated.

"HELL YEAH!" Meehsas shouted, as he launched a Gero in mid-dair into a ceiling now composed of molasses. Amidst the chaos of chips cards, money, various foodstuffs, and damaged machines scattered throughout the floor, he couldn't feel more at home kicking the crap out of the bad guys. "It's high time we upped the ante! How 'bout it ladies!" he joyfully asked the trio of guards, approaching one of them and knocking her into the air.

"At any rate...for our next move, I suggest we head towards the arena. Have Sammy and Meagan meet us there and we'll position ourselves into some front row seats, regardless of who's already seated. If that announcement is any indication that the finals are about to start soon. If Incenio wants to give chase, he is welcome to try. However, if he interrupts this match in any way, these are two competitors I doubt he would like to be caught in between..." Blizzar smirked.

" Well at lest Meagan is safe , which makes this drawing useless now," Althena said as she puts the illustration away. Althena then heads towards the direction of the arena.

"Eh....I don't suppose it would be very heroic of me to go take a nap while there's evil afoot?" Held said glumly. He had been catching his breath slowly, but surely, regaining his energy, but he was not certain he would risk another drag out brawl with an Incenio, without more in the tank.

"...Actually, where's the buffet? If Sarada and Charco are fighting, it's likely to be one hell of a battle. Plenty of time for me to grab a bite to ea---"

    Held paused, realizing something.

"...Holy hell, who would I even bet on in that fight? I've never thought about it until now!"

Told be told, he felt a lot more confident fighting Sarada than he had been for Kenbo, if only because they had bothered to heal him before the bout.

A year or so ago, Charco would have said that Sarada was predictable in her tactics, as the two of them often thought in similar trains of thought. As they had progressed through their lives, endured the ups and downs, he would have admitted that he couldn't be so certain. With the ringing of the bell resonating through his head, Charco did the only appropriate thing he could think of.

He rushed forth, lobbing forth a punch directed to the Queen's face...

... only to get socked by an identical punch thrown by the Saiyan herself.

    Some things never change.

There were times when the chemistry two people had developed over time become painfully evident. Emphasis on painful. Just as Sarada's punch connected, Charco's connected, creating a beautifully rendered painting depicting the consequences of matching two incredibly reckless fighters together against each other.

Sarada recoiled and stumbled back, stunned not only from the blow itself, but from the realization that the opening move of the final fight was a double punch that knocked both parties for a loop.

One step, two steps, three steps and her balance was regained, and with it her composure. Red orbs formed in her hands as she thrust them forward. "Take this!" She unleashed the blast at near point-blank range.

    Default Retcons for Rutaba

She could hear his voice, but he was nowhere to be found. Then, she felt a unmoving hand pushing against her spine just as his voice sounded from behind her.

She froze and seized up. Not daring to move, she cycled through her minuscule list of techniques to try and figure a way out of this. There wasn't one. With victory nowhere in sight, the young Saiyan girl had no choice but to reflect on what was said to her.

Good people obeyed the law, which meant that bad people broke the law. And justice was putting a stop to those bad people and throwing them in jail! That was what it said in the comics and on TV, so...

["There are times when obeying the law isn't always what's right. The law is inflexible, and unyielding. It looks only at the action, not the reason behind those actions. It says that stealing is wrong, but gives no adherence to the starving family that relies on that theft."]

Rutaba frowned. Back then, Maiz told her and Pinach that right as they were starting out their superhero careers. Back then, it seemed silly, but now... What could it mean? It was all so complex and confusing! All she wanted to do was help people feel safe at night. Bad people took that feeling of safety away. Thanks to her and Pinach, people could walk around outside. Kids wouldn't be snatched off the streets and made to do all sorts of horrible things, like Sarada was when she was a kid. People could grow food in their backyards and not have to worry about someone going on their property and picking their patches clean.

That was true justice - making sure people felt safe in their own homes. That was what the law did, right? And justice was upholding that law.

    Right?

"I don't understand," she eventually said, despondently. "All we want to do is help people."
"I would suppose that upon a Saiyan world, conflict can never be far. Whether you are the first to arrive or the last to turn the tide, there will always be a battle to be had."

He'd seen it in Totoma, Sarada and Parsley. Surely this was the habit of a born warrior, a condition to anticipate the fight in tandem with a nature to relish it. Often there is little further thought than that moment of engagement; he'd known its allure all too well.

"When violence spills out into the streets you will be there. The villainous will face dread when they find righteousness, and the previous order will be upheld."

Ochazuke lift his hand away from her backl for the moment, the weight fell from her.

    "And nothing will change."

Just as swiftly, the sharp point of his boot folded in the back of her left knee, breaking her stance.

"If Justice is nothing more than fear of consequence, then strong as you are, it is little different than a parent scolding a child too hapless to do anything about it without a wit to understand why."

He held his palm out toward her as her stance crumpled. Without any flash or utterance, the iron wind of Kiai struck upon her again, sending her tumbling out a short distance past the edge of the Lookout. With a swift push into flight, Ochazuke pursued as he continued.

"A Man will do what he must to survive, even if the Law should make it a crime to bleed or to starve. What should protect those who need help most of all has left many without a future, nothing more than numbered days before a final judgement, from deeds committed on a path with no way out."

The drag of the air fell cold as it seemed to howl in the wake of their flight. Ochazuke's gaze did not break even at this speed, surveying the Saiyan child for something. She'd been prepared for a fight to pass the time. She'd frozen up when she had no answers.

"Did you see them any more than threats that needed to be quashed? Tell me, Rutaba, is this as much as they deserve, to have their lives and deeds judged in isolation?"

Rapidly approaching, he drew his right fist back.

"You know this will not be enough. If you are ready to serve Justice, then you'll have to be more than this!"

His hand cut through the wind, carrying upon it a heavy, lethal silence as it fell toward her.

The impact sent him skidding backward, kicking up dust from the arena floor. As expected, Sarada gave him little time to recover as she was already firing upon him once she got her bearings, forcing him to evade by utilizing his Carnotarus Charge, his image blurring as he serpentined toward her.

"Don't get too cocky now that you can turn blond. I can do the same with a bottle of dye!" He taunted before leaning back into a baseball slide aimed at striking her legs.
