It's the sort of thing that allows well-thinking men to proclaim that all men have inalienable rights with a pen in one hand, while branding a lash with the other to the slaves that toil against their will on his household and property. It isn't so much that it was a different time, but rather the same corrosive undercurrent across all Time. No one should be surprised about what a society will countenance, however heinous that may be. Not back then and certainly not today.

The International Catalogue of Superheroes also lists several Golden Age heroes. The site hasn't been updated in awhile though.

By the way, the two entries from here that say "No image available at present" are for:

    "Captain Daring and His Sky-Sharks" - U.S.A. Comics #5 (Summer 1942)

    and

"Fighting Yank" from Captain America Comics #17 (August 1942).
NOTE: There was already a long-running "Fighting Yank" feature (and later comic book as well) from Standard/Nedor/Pines. That character first appeared in Startling Comics #10 (September 1941).

Quite a lot of unknown characters. Hopefully someone will come along and write some of these characters. The Twelve was awesome even if it JMS stopped after six issues and the delay was long. Was a fan of the Liberty Legion. Marvel should do something like DC’s All Star Squadron. There are quite a lot of obscure characters that could be interwoven with the Invaders.

I'm not sure where you're going with "JMS stopped after six issues" since as far as I know, he did write twelve issues. (Though there were definitely long delays involved between some issues!)

    I enjoyed them, too.

Well, there was the All-Winners Squad: Band of Heroes series that started in 2011 and was suppose to go for eight issues, but Marvel ended its run with issue #5 (without finishing the story itself).
Writer Paul Jenkins and artist Carmine Di Giandomenico were using quite a few of Timely/Marvel's more obscure Golden Age heroes as part of that story.

Not sure if it's been brought up in this thread but Blonde Phantom was a co-star of the Sensational She-Hulk comics, as Jen's secretary "Weezi".

There's also the V-Battalion, which were featured in the Thunderbolts:

Wasn’t the delay almost like three years? It was a looooong delay.
