I think Kojima's a bit iffy on the MGS titles that don't have him closely involved (*especially* Survive, these days!), although MGS4 did use some artwork and cutscenes from PO in the MGS4 cutscenes, and I think MGS 2 had a few visual nods to Ghost Babel and VR missions.
