If done right it could be great, even if its not the show we really asked for. Borrowing from Snyder's last part of All-Star Batman would be cool. Wintergreen would also be welcome.

Well, I don't really have an image in my head for "young Alfred", since it's not like he can or cannot look the part. Eh, I can't really get a feel for this just off that one picture.

I can sort of see Alfred as a Kingsman. It's sad that time has moved for him, too, and we can no longer have the history of his World War II romance with Mademoiselle Marie.

I feel like this show is going to follow a fine line between feeling like an actual comic book prequel and just being a show that attaches some famous comic book names to something that has nothing to do with the comics.

Yeah, but without resorting to having Alfred placed in an iceberg like Captain America his WWII history has to be removed sometime.

He's had "origin stories" in the past (before Flashpoint/the New52).
    Most I remember were pre-CoIE.

Now we are getting an alfred prequel series
Which will probably be good just like Gotham is but ultimately these shows(Krypton, Gotham, Metropolis, etc) are just getting made because they can't do a Batman or Superman tv show akin to arrow because of the DC movies
I really don't care about what happens with a TV series as long as they don't suddenly retcon any changes from that into the comic book stories.

Well, unless they're making Alfred a guy in his late '90s who hasn't aged because he was frozen in suspended animation in an iceberg or something, . . .

I don't really care about this series, and don't plan to watch it as the concept doesn't interest me. But if it gets really good reviews then I will take a look and see if I like it.

Since the Gotham finale will feature Batman, I wonder if the Pennyworth finale will feature Bruce's birth.

Batwoman and Batwing are already taken.
The CW is working on a Batwoman pilot right now. Luke Fox is part of the main cast, so it's fairly safe to say he will become Batwing eventually and join Batwoman on the field.

Jason Todd is also already taken, though as Robin, in the Titans series on the DC streaming service.

And Cassandra is also taken, she will be in the Birds of Prey film, though whether she will be Orphan or Batgirl, or prior to a vigilante identity isn't entirely clear yet.

Wow, this is a show about a DC character that doesn't look like it was filmed in some warehouse in Vancouver!

Not interested in ALFRED BEGINS but the production looks stylish. We'll see.

That may have been the one who was willing to pay for it, and maybe it's part of a pitch to try and expand the audience / subscribers?
