i read somewhere that 21st century fox is interested in purchasing time warner. can they?
it's probably unlikely, but if they did, what would happen to dc comics? i'm actually looking forward to the upcoming dc tv shows, movies, and video games.

No it's a matter of stocks. They would own to much. Fox would own Dc.
Three words: Batman vs. Wolverine.

If Fox bought Warner, I would expect the previously disclosed DC Comics movie plans to get either shelved or restructured to avoid competition with their Fantastic Four and X-Men films.
And I wonder if Fox could technically use DC Comics to print comic adaptations of the movies, as long as they stick to adapting the script and use the likenesses of the actors/actresses.

if that's the case then i would rather have time warner buy fox instead.
Same here.
The FF movie sounds like it's FF in name only and the X-Men films have had a long run.
They would probably do best to switch gears and do the DC Films and shelve the Marvel ones. Especially if Hugh Jackman is done.
Unfortunately, I believe they have to do something with FF or they'll lose the rights back to Marvel (which wouldn't be a bad thing, of course).
The interesting question is would they be able to use Marvel characters in DC movies? The Bat-tastic four? Task Force-X-Men?
