They can co-exist - they don't have a single team member in common, other than possibly Champions Reinforcement Roster member Prodigy, who hasn't made a physical appearance there and therefore could in theory be the other Prodigy (one of the Slingers) and not the ex X-Man and YA (Zub has even avoided answering the question of his identity when asked on his Tumblr AMA).

The Champions are more of a replacement for the New Warriors than the YAs, quite frankly (and they DO have a team member in common, Nova). The last NW volume was at around the same time as the last YA one.

And don't say Marvel should only have one teen team at a time. DC had two Titans teams until this week when one of them ended, and also have Young Justice.

First I've heard of any of that. Can take it or leave it; read the Runaways crossovers and I think there's a reason Kate was the only one become a bigger-name character.

Hard to say if they'd adjust to that, although it would recontextualize some things in the comics if they did that.

Legal arrangements were made to be able to use the Champions name again after Marvel let the copyright fall away.

I'd be a bit surprised if they just drop it after a few years use (unless the legal arrangement has a sunset clause that isn't known).

Yeah, they can co-exist but is Marvel interested in going that route or are they more likely to want to clear the field for The Young Avengers? If Young Avengers returns it wouldn't surprise me to see Champions rebranded as the second Young Avengers title. Or it's cancelled and the characters Marvel cares about (Miles, Kamala, Riri,) end up on Young Avengers. I left the Sam version of Nova off because he was created by Loeb who runs the TV stuff. Feige's domain is the movies and the Disney streaming service. I don't see Feige wanting to use a toy created by Loeb for that reason alone.

Looks like if the book had survived, it would've required a retool around now. Quentin's in the new X-Force team, which certainly means he would've left the WCAs. This also effectively confirms that the team is now disbanded.

That is likely the case, but it isn't necessarily true. Even with Quire and possibly Gwenpool gone, that would still leave at least 5 members (Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Fuse, Alloy and Hawkeye). That's enough to maintain a team for a while. Plus Noh-Varr is a potential recruit.

Given that the team no longer has a book to appear in, a disbanding is almost inevitable...but given that they just made an appearance as a team last month in SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN, it may be premature to say its already happened.

The team was supposedly in Unstoppable Wasp #10 - but only Hawkeye and America were specifically mentioned or seen. They even said America was doing all the heavy lifting and Kate was just hanging out with Alexis. Could it be that the team was already split then, but they didn't tell the GIRL gang? After all, why would they miss a chance for Gurihiru to draw Gwen?

The fact that it was only a one-panel cameo may have had something to do with it.

I think there might have been plans for the WCA to have appeared in a more substantial role if the book hadn't been cancelled.

This book was always going to be short lived. Too niche a lineup using a name that inspires a greater lineup with greater purpose than what we got.

And we can blame executive meddling for that, because Kelly wanted She-Hulk and Tigra, not Gwenpool and Quentin.
