Default Is the Poe Dameron comic dropping some hints about episode 9? (possible spoilers

The latest issues in part take place after TLJ (although they also explain where Poe was during the middle of TFA), and hint that perhaps Poe might be force sensitive, as well as making Nien Nunb the captain of the Millenium Falcon (although TFA and TLJ had Rey be the co-pilot, I guess she might be doing more "Jedi stuff" at this point). I'm guessing future arcs will also 'bridge the gap' between TLJ and 9, although right now they seem focused on Poe's TFA adventures and soon the fate of his squadron (Who according to TLJ tie-in media were not any of the pilots who were killed, but were off doing something else-maybe hunting for the elusive "Outer rim" allies like the end of Battlefront II's DLC).

Could be we see the Nien Nunb piloted Falcon (Which might involve a gag considering audiences can't understand what either is saying?) and Jedi Poe in 9, perhaps?

    Doubtful.

Where is Poe getting the authority of assigning a captain to a ship that technically isn't even part of the Resistance and already has at least one owner?

Actually it's Leia's call (I kind of worded it wrong in my OP).

It's possible, but it really seems like Disney/Lucasfilm goes out of its way to avoid teasing anything of consequence about future installments.

Some of Bloodlines (released in 2016) hints at some aspects of the Last Jedi's plot, establishing that Ben going bad was not that long before TFA (The novel takes place 6 years before TFA, and everything with Luke and Ben seems to be OK at this point, and indeed in TLJ's flashback Luke and Ben don't look that different) and also the First Order's relationship with arms merchants (Even has a casino!). Rian Johnson offered some input into the novel, not surprisingly.

During the Lucas era, there were also some little details about what was coming dropped in some of the media (Grevious in the older Clone Wars cartoon being the biggest example).

With all the plot holes in TLJ that seem to ignore major parts of TFA and Disney not having a planed out trilogy and it basically winging it with each movie I see any connection between the movies and other media to be irrelevant at this point.
Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting

Ah, interesting. Thanks for the info. I haven't read Bloodlines yet, but I hope to soon. I recently read the Aftermath novels and felt like the first one (which I think was released before TFA?) danced around any significant details that might feed into the movie. But the second and third books provided some really good context for how the First Order came to be. So it kind of seems like the new canon stuff just fleshes things out after they've been revealed, but doesn't really hint at upcoming developments.

I'm going to have to agree with Moon Ronin. Even if they did plan on making hints towards the movie it wouldn't happen until the film is nearing release.
