    Default Infinity gauntlet question

It's about actual glove, not the series (but still relevant).

Anyway, in Infinity War, Adam Warlock tries to use the gauntlet, but nothing happens. Apparently, The Living Tribunal ruled against the gems being used as one, and that only Eternity can now reverse that decision. Where did that happen exactly? I read Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1, and indeed, The Living Tribunal rules against Warlock. But, how it's presented there, it was simply *decided* that Warlock breaks off the gauntlet and separates the gems, which he does later. Nothing that the gems on gauntlet wouldn't work later on combined, and even it was implied that possible fight between TLT and IG wielding Warlock would bring devastation to the whole universe, as Tribunal can't just take the gems/gauntlet from him. And gauntlet does seem to work still at the end of that issue.

Did Tribunal just lie, not to "shame" Warlock among all those cosmic abstracts around?

I don't recall which issue it is, but IIRC, there is a second hearing at some point about the gems. Infinity Watch takes place immediately after Infinity Gauntlet, and the gems get used together (in various creative ways) at least twice more after that (once by the Man-Beast, and once by the Magus in Infinity War), which leads to the ultimate ruling against them.

I'd guess that LT was able to make it happen after Adam dispersed the gems (and was no longer omnipotent enough to take on LT directly), but didn't inform him? Or more likely that Adam with gauntlet knew that would happen (he seemed somewhat omniscient), but Adam without had forgotten that would happen. (He did mention that a lot of his cosmic awareness faded once he dispersed the gems).

It's been a while, though, so maybe I'm misremembering. It's entirely possible that it was a retcon and didn't take place on-panel until Adam "discovered" it in Infinity War.

Magus never wielded the full gauntlet, it's how he was defeated. Thanos made a fake reality gem, which Magus never picked up on as such. As for the gems being used in unison, it was stated explicitly in Infinity War that only Eternity could undo LT's edict, which he did at the behest of Galactus, and then immediately rescinded after Magus tried using the 5 collected gems he had.

Wait, Magus had the Mind Gem, which should have revealed to him that Thanos was holding out, but it didn't? Interesting.

IIRC it was shown that the wielder of the Mind Gem couldn't read other members of the Infinity Watch, of which Thanos was secretly a member with the reality gem.
