    I didn't mind the JL Detroit or JSA versions, but I much prefer the original, and really feel he works best as a period piece.

    Somebody suggested a title exploring DC's history; I'd love to see Steel in one of those. Given the properties of the bio-retardant, there's no reason his career couldn't have run from 1939 through the 1980s at least.

    And, by the way, a "Commander Steel" was killed off (by writer Tom King) in Heroes in Crisis, so I don't know if/what impact that may-or-may-not have for any future use of the original version of the character.
