Default Mike Mignola (almost) non-Hellboy Check-list (vol. 4)

Well - when you have ALL the Hellboy comics itīs time to collect ALL the other comics penciled by Mike Mignola. So here it is (just print it out and take it to your local comicshop) :

    Mike Mignola (almost) non-Hellboy Check-list

(Note : The Mignola-list features titles of the "short-stories" and year of publication - the first edition, not the reprint/TPB. The list is done alphabetically and does not include issues, where Mignola only did the inks, the cover, a pin-up or the writing. If there are no pages listed, Mignola did the entire book.)

The list is partly based on the "Mignola Comixography" by Miguel Angel Alvarez and up-dated with info from Brian T. Riverīs "Mike Mignola Comic Art Catalog" from CBA # 23.
For helping with this list I would like to thank Nick Warmack, JNapper (from "the first" Hellboy.com), Christine Mignola and Mal Earl.

To add to this list, and for the hardcore completist collectors, the French market seems to make an exclusive habit of publishing Mike Mignola's works in plain Black and White (not scans from the original art).
To date there are four books published in that form by three different publishers.

The Third Wish and Hellboy In Hell by Delcourt in (much) oversized limited editions http://myabsolutecollection.blogspot...d-special.html

Batman Sanctum and Gotham by Gaslight (in one book) by Rackham in a small TPB edition http://myabsolutecollection.blogspot...-french-b.html

And Aliens Salvation by Wetta in an oversized very limited edition http://myabsolutecollection.blogspot...ted-raw-b.html

Not sure if this is the best place for this, but the Mignola variant cover for Joe Golem #1 slipped by me, as did his variant for Ragnarok #8 (just purchased both online). He also did a pin-up for a Kickstarter book called "Doc Unknown". And although it's not a new image, a book recently titled "Hellboy's World", a scholarly look at the character, was released featuring a Mignola cover and images throughout.

Also, along with "Grim Death and The Electrocuted Criminal", and older books like "Backup", and "Heart of Darkness", a quick look online just shed light on another book Mignola did a cover for called "Gilded Needles". And there's an upcoming book being released called "Children of Lovecraft".

    "................ and much more."

I sure hope that means a huge gallery section with - among other things - the cover to The Shadow Strikes ! # 31 and the 4 covers to Batman "A Death in the Family"

This will fit in nicely on my Mignola shelf - P. Craig Russell inked an issue of Superman and the Phantom Stranger story.

    Think about this:

John Byrne has a "Marvel Universe by John Byrne" OMNIBUS, and an up-comming "DC Universe by John Byrne" Hardcover.

Mignola has a "DC Universe by Mike Mignola" Hardcover. So now we just need a "Marvel Universe by Mike Mignola" OMNIBUS.

    With the following content :

    Alpha Flight # 29-31 + 47 / Cloak and Dagger #8 / Doctor Strange & Doctor Doom GN. / Hulk # 311-313 / Marvel Age Annual # 1 / Marvel Fanfare # 16+34+43 / Marvel Super-heroes Summer Special # 10 / Rocket Raccoon # 1-4 / Solomon Kane # 4 / Thor # 408-408 / Web of Spider-Man Annual # 2 / What the ..?! # 2 / Wolverine "The Jungle Adventure" / X-Force # 8.
And a hole BUNCH of covers and pin-ups !

    Thank you Marvel

    And also in need :

The Collected short-stories by Mike Mignola "Other Weird Tales"

    With the following content:

The Amazing Screw-on Head / Rusty Razorclam / The Magician and the Snake / The Mask "Gug Soth-Yog Sugoth" / Metropol # 9-11 / Solomon Grundy / Ray Bradbury "The City" / Abu Gung and the Beanstalk" original version / Squid of Man / Weasel story / The Yak Master / Why did the Chicken Cross the Road / Gungdoom ! / How to Build a Better Graveyard.

And the "Art of Mike Mignola" artbook is much overdue !
