The "Rotworld" event with Swamp Thing and Animal Man from the New 52 was pretty cool.

Some have already suggested Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run. I would read it all since it is full of good horror stories.
For me, the most hardcore stories are from Jamie Delano's and Garth Ennis' Hellblazer runs. They are both excellent and have some really sickening things. I am currently reading through Paul Jenkins' run right now, which is also very good, but not as good as Delano's or Ennis' work.Last edited by judder64; 06-01-2018 at 02:58 AM.

I'm not sure it counts but Batman The Cult to me is a horror story. The failing of Batman, an evil cult, dead bodies hanging everywhere it just has a sense brutal dark sense of hopelessness.
