I reread house of m fantastic four last night. Here's another theory. Doom was real. Wanda plucked him from hell and created a fake family for him, to keep him happy. But whoever had ownership of his soul set out to ruin his "utopia." The devil could have been speaking through Cynthia. Anyways, it was very apparent that doom was being catered to. he kept the mutated Ben Grimm around as a reminder of past victories; according to him. He told his mother that he had everything he wanted; listing his family and Latveria's sovereignty. This is the real Victor adapting to a world run by mutants.
