Okay so ever since Jake got cast I’ve really mysterio is actually really cool. Cool history, cool costume, epic fishbowl head. Great banter with spidey. Plus he’s a member of the sinister six and his cape thing is sickening. So we’re overdue for an appreciation thread!

Yay, I've been awaiting this thread for a long time. In my opinion, Mysterio is the most underrated of all Spidey's A-List Villains.

Then you should already know that Quintin Beck is appearing within the BEN REILLY: THE SCARLET SPIDER Series, and he was recently seen within Issue #18......

end of spoilersToday's Issue reveals that aftermath of the "Vanishing Casino" Trick, which reveals that the casino was the spot the mystical being known as Cyttorak; where Misty Beck {Quentin's daughter} wanted her father there as part of the ceremony. Unfortunately, it's Quentin who ended up with the power {at the death of his duaghter} and has the powers of Cytorrak and {of course} blames Scarlet & Dusk {of the Slingers} for the tragedy. Fortunately, Scarlett got to the weapons room and uses a sword to slice Mysterio's hand that had the Cytorrak mark {which cancels the magic} but the issue ends with Misty being revived by the magic of Cytorak

Mysterio has always been one of my favorite Spider-Man villains. "Spider-Man Goes Mad" will always be one of my favorite stories. I love the kind of threat Mysterio presents. Whereas most Spidey villains rely on brute force and raw power, Mysterio relies on trickery and kinds of gadgets. I have been waiting for him to be in a Spidey movie for years and I am excited to see what's in store.

He was a cool boss in the original Ps1 game. Crazy how its takes place in the Daily Bugle though.

One thing is for certain about the Master of Illusion... he's a ret-con machine. ANYTHING that can be done with him can be plausibly undone...and because of his MO, we kind of have to accept it...

Excellent casting choice. I've been clamoring for Mysterio in film form since Spider-Man 2.
To tie it into the greater MCU, maybe Beck uses the glasses technology that Tony Stark exhibited in Civil War?

I wonder who would write a really good Mysterio. They should get Hickman or morrison in to write the definitive modern take on him
