Quick question: The IDW Regeneration One series. Does that sit inbetween the 80 issue Generation One series and 12 issue Generation 2, or does it retcon G2 etcetc?

RG1 is only a continuation of the original Marvel series. Both G2 and Furmans UK work are not considered continuity for the series. He does however use characters and story ideas from those works.

I always thought G2 was never canon and almost that of a reboot. It has been years and years since I've read them though so I could be wrong.

G2 was continuity. It takes place some time after issue 80.

Huh. I just remember it being very dark and violent. Maybe that's why I thought it wasn't canon.

Thanks for that reading order. I'm actually reading the original 80 issues from the Marvel 80s series right now and then going to Regen One and G2. Probably the UK series too. Then I'm going to start reading the IDW reading order from the beginning.

Yeah, the first couple issues heavly reference what happened in Marvel G1. Plus Megatron,Shockwave, Ratchet, and Starscream crash land on Earth at the end of G1, and MEgatron is rebuilt by Cobra which leads into G2.

Does anybody have an IDW tpb reading order? If all else fails I might get the hardcovers. Looks like they are printed in proper reading order already, like this one....

I'm currently reading through the IDW in reading order for the first time. I forgot how much I enjoyed the Spotlights. Cliffjumper's was much more emotionally driven than I remember.

Here's a question about the original Marvel series and ReGeneration One...

Nucleon was supposed to take away a TF's transforming ability or affect the TF in some other way. Most notably we saw this with the Dinobots and so far a few others (just started reading RG1). But Nucleon was also used to revive a bunch of guys to fight Unicron in #75, including Prowl. But Prowl seems to have had no side-effects whatsoever. So were the side effects overstated?

Not sure - I think Grimlock was looking for a cure for the Nucleon side-effects in Regen 1, but cant remember off-hand if he succeeded.

It ends up effecting some, like Slag and blaster, but not all.

I hope you enjoy RG1, I sure didn't. I was a big defender of Furman until I read that series. Thank God for MTMTE.
