I mean, obviously the issue is going to revolve around a certain someone's funeral but is there going to be a major event that takes place as well? It just seems odd that he's leaving with issue #801 instead of #800...

Issue 801 is more likely a slice of life story for Spider-Man.

I think that it's going to be an epilogue like issue. The heavy stuff took place in 800.
However, i could be mistaken.

Eh, i would be surprised if it is anything more than a coda/quiet reflection/recap type of tale. #800 packed a lot in and left most of the main characters in a defined place so I don't see anything major transpiring since Slott just has 20 final pages to work with but I could be wrong about that. I don't think he needs to do anything more than a thoughtful farewell but he could have one final surprise up his sleeve.
