Starts off from the preview where X is revealed to have housed the Shadow King all this time and he starts to send out tendrils of shadow things everywhere, something about using the gardens which Proteus made to control the planet.
He infects all the X-Men except Psylocke with darkness so they succumb to their fears etc for the whole issue.
Just as Psylocke is defeated (bitten apparently) as well, and all hope seems lost, X gets up, pushes his skull back together and fixes everything using Psylocke as they connect to every psychic on earth and do something to defeat the Shadow King. Not entirely sure to be honest, "get more powerful" sort of covers it.
At the end X wipes all the X-Mens minds about him, except Psylocke, leaving her as the only one to know he exists to make sure X doesn't go all Shadow King again.
X also gives the X-Men "gifts" such as "choice, "purpose" and "understanding" etc which seems to mean very little mostly apart from Archangel being able to be who he wants to be (choice) and Gambit going to search for Fantomex (purpose)

This was rather messy, and decompressed. I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. Most of the X-Men didn't really need to be there. I'm still not entirely sure of the Shadow Kings plan or how they beat him but I don't think thats the point. It does set up X as a character unto himself which could be interesting in the right hands.
