    spoilers:
I should've realized there was no way they would have had the main adult Peter in this movie be the fully-fledged and standard one.

I kinda gathered that from the trailers. Still this isn't going to stop me from seeing the movie since it is after all Miles' story.

Yea but honestly older Peter Parker is a total DILF.
The city I once knew as home is teetering on the edge of radioactive oblivion

The initial trailers indicated as much to me, but the last one totally fooled me .

Yeah, especially with the teases we got from the very first trailer, this is exactly what I assumed what was gonna happen. And like you said, it is Miles movie, so that stuff would be secondary or tertiary.

That Spider-Bum scene was far more indicative then I would have liked .

Trailer can mislead us it happens. I wasn't wowed by the very first Winter Soldier trailer and that movie went on to be in my top five MCU list.

Definitely. I feel that the presence of the other Spider-People may have made some forget this. That being said none of this means that Peter can't still be a great character within the film.

I mean, I'm willing to give it a chance, but it kind of just reinforces my view that Peter and Miles just don't really work in each other's stories without major changes to either of them.

I believe it's possible with the right amount of effort but I suppose some compromises will always have to be made.

    Major spoilers:

    spoilers:
Ok so thankfully Jack Johnson's Peter being divorced from his own MJ is revealed in the first act itself and is not some massive plot twist. So maybe there is hope for him to get back to her when he returns. Not that it really matters if he gets a great character arc.

Sounds great. I'll be seeing it for the animation alone.

As far as Peter's depiction in this movie goes, if it doesn't jibe with how I see him in the comics, that's ok. This isn't the comics and this Peter isn't supposed to be the definitive article. If the overall story is good, I can roll with it.

Sony looks like they REALLY know what they are doing with this...

Introducing Miles to the mainstream audience via a family friendly animated film with a really cool/innovative animation style.

I bet this will look great in 3D......
