As for more odd stuff like race changes and the like it's best to assume realities are living changing things even naturally. They'd be altered as the reality grows and changes as time progresses.

So a black Etta Candy doesn't mean Doctor Manhattan somehow made her black but that reality updates naturally and things like that are imperceptibly happening but are natural in comparison to what Doctor Manhattan did.
