Default Should they just make Tim Drake the new Oracle?

Lets all be honest here. Ever since they created Damian and he took over the Robin role Tim has been pretty much adrift as a character. The Nu52 further trashed poor Tim and made him seem even more out of place. Would it be better to just retire Tim as an active in the field type character and have him as the new Oracle full time? Tim just doesn't seem to have any real pupose in the DCU anymore, but he could if he took up more the Oracle role. Plus that role really does fit well with Tim's skills and abilitys.

I just hate what has happened to a character who used to be so great and know he needs something to make him shine again.

I would love to see him eventually become 'Oracle' but undertaking a new training from Intelligence Communities and going on his own journey like Bruce did.
I always had love for the character Naif Al-Sheikh from Justice League Elite , so getting training from people like him to run his own agency (unlike Spyral, who could be a good antagonist) , maybe its Checkmate , which alongside DEO and Task Force X in DCU are the premier intel agencies .
Tim will always be loyal to Bruce and his battle , but there is so much he could do out there, as long as he doesn't end in a wheelchair.

Why not make him the new Spectre?

An "Oracle" doesn't seem all that useful these days as more and more characters get tech-savvy and already have wired costumes.

But you'd still need a third angel.

    And who's be the Bosley?

No! This question pops up on this forum every now and then, and it's still stupid. He is a freaking superhero. His place is on the field, not behind the computer screen. He just needs a solo series and a writer who can actually write him and he will be fine.

The Robin name is embarrassing? Since when? Tim always thought of it as a great honour. He fought hard to fill the role perfectly, and he did.

No. Tim needs to stop riding other characters coattails, and should try to find his own path. And truly. Not just throw a color in front of his name so he can do the same old stuff.

No. Just retire the character already.

Just bring back Chuck Dixon, and turn him loose again on Robin, just like the last time Tim was actually written decently.

With the folks in charge-that seems to be a HUGE battle for not just Tim but a LOT of characters at DC.

At this point there's no reason for him to exist. I get it, you needed a Robin with Jason dead. Tim will never be the classic Dick was, he'll never be the bad boy dark Robin that Jason was, and he'll never be the son of Batman like Damian is. He's just a kid who held the role while it was in limbo. I know that sucks for fans of his to hear, but

No. The only people who should be Oracle are Babs (ideally) or Wendy Harris.

My ideal set-ups for Tim are what they've always been: Put him and Cass in a book together and/or bring back the Young Justice gang.

No character needs to exist from the perspective you're coming at it from. If a character is popular, if a creator wants to do something with them or if DC wants to push them, a character will continue to appear. Most heroes don't have a firmly defined role and one isn't necessary for good stories, character dynamics and development.

I feel like any "make ____ Oracle" is just missing the point to begin with.

No one can just be Oracle, not even Babs as she currently is, and I certainly don't think shoving Tim into that role will do him any favors.
