    Default Modern Marvel Tropes

Lately I noticed a new trope Marvel puts its characters through when they relaunch a title and want a new spin, take said character and put them IIIIN SPAAAAAAAAACE. You have Winter Soldier, Venom, Iron Man and currently Doctor Strange. The other obvious one is, take "X" hero and turn them EVIL!!!!

Any other subtle tropes or not, you have noticed? They don't have to be bad stories, just repeats through out the line.

Put two heroes against each other over a moral stance, with either side seeming OOC for its respective flagship hero.

Creating a new character that becomes a Deus Ex Machina-type, then disappears.

    Making events inside events:
    -Generations for Secret Empire.
    -Warped for Infinity... something.

Hero vs. Hero stories that eventually culminate in an event where everyone goes "hey, why don't we all be traditional heroes again?" until they inevitably all screw-up and fight each other again.

    Rinse and repeat.

It's not exactly a coherent trope, but I think most of the recent slew of solo books that have been coming out have been trying to use the Hawkeye formula. She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, etc. A grounded approach with less of an emphasis on plot and villains, more of an emphasis on daily life.

Taking singular heroes and going the "family" route with them. Now we have an entire ninja clan of that use the Iron Fist. So it's only a matter of time before we get an Iron Fist Family https://www.cbr.com/marvel-comics-iron-fist-clan/

That...sounds like it can descend into navel gazing very quickly.

I remember them trying to make a "Hulk Family" a thing before Duggan started de-powering most of them.

They're still trying to make a "Spider-Man Family" into a thing.
