    Default Golden Age The Mist

First appearance = Adventure Comics #67 (October 1941)

Though when I first read this story, it was when it was reprinted in Superman #252 (June 1972), which was also DC 100-Page Super Spectacular DC-13.

From Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe Vol. XV (May 1986)

where The Mist's real identity is listed as "unrevealed".

    I love these!
“To the future or to the past. To a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone - to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: from the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink - greetings!" - Winston Smith

Simon and Kirby "adapted" this in Fighting American, with Invisible Irving.
