Default Father's Day: Salute to the Best dads in comicdom

It's Father's Day here in the USA. A day for honoring the good dads everywhere. So why not salute the good dads in comics?

Who are some of the best fathers (or father - figures) in comics? Bonus points if they are still active characters.

Dads who die due to "origin" are hard to judge.

Jor-El, Thomas Wayne, and Richard Parker didn't get the chance to raise Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man (respectively) to adulthood.

Jonathan Kent, Alfred Pennyworth, and Ben Parker did, however, even if none of them were the biological fathers of those superheroes. And each of these three are held up as paragons of paternal guidance.

Who else joins these three in the Parthenon of Great Comic Book Dads?

Oh, and Happy Father's Day to all the dads on here doing right by their kids!

Now Batman and Superman are fathers. When will Peter have a kid?

Bruce (Batman) Wayne (1939) raised a diplomat and a pro bono lawyer, without all the trauma that his contemporary counter-part seems to have inflicted on his protoges.

Scott Lang is all about Cassie, even when he's got to Ant-Man.

Animal Man (Buddy Baker) was always about his kids.

John (Red Tornado) Smith has always given his adopted daughter all the love an android has to offer.

Jack Knight (Starman) is a great father to his son.

If I mention David Cain, I will be hunted down and beaten at best. Correct?

Having seen Incredibles 2 yesterday I will give at least honorary mention to Bob Parr.

Logan also gets points if the qualification is 'Kids he knew of and tried to raise/mentor' rather than 'Whom he sired'.

Lets hear it for adopted kids and their dads!

(But its generally bad form to hurl the kids to their death, for the record)
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
