I can sort of understand why Kitty has not come out so far (middle-aged men are in love with her, she's a relatively well-known character) but for the life of me I do not understand how Rachel has gone from boyfriend to boyfriend with every new writer.

I think every female Claremont ever got his hands on was written as bisexual. A lot of that i disregard as the writer being kind of weird.
