What other books have we seen with this exact story?

Art and villains are pretty killer, loving the book.

I was wondering the same thing.....Perhaps he's tired of the whole good guys vs bad guys motif. I mean, he's right, that's been done a million times! Perhaps we can have one side to be a group of indifferent characters who go about life in a lackadaisical way and the other side to be hedonists who have altruistic ideals when it comes to the elderly, and when the rival factions meet they grab their ballroom gowns and do a dance-off to "Puttin on the Ritz" by Taco. Granted, that's a little too similar to the ending of GotG 1, but at least it hasn't been done a million times.

I mean, nevermind the characterization Millar has put into this book, as well as the methods of the villains. It's just the same old, same old, to that discerning reader.

I mean every single storyline has been told throughout the centuries. The underdog storyline is the most popular example. It's all about how you tell this story that matters.

Its decent but not worth reading issue to issue. I'll probably just trade wait it.

To be honest I wish he did more with the movie version of Wanted.

Another great issue of art from Oliver. The story wasn't bad either. I'm just hoping the ending pays off.

I’m betting that it won’t come out by then. It’ll be pushed for months, just like the final two issues. I’m sick of getting emails saying it’s been changed for the past 4-5 weeks.

Yupp. The lateness, while not overly problematic, is unbearable. If this was an Ongoing instead of an LS I would have dropped it already...and Coipel is one of my absolute faves!

Yeah, there was a little twist I wasn't quite expecting.

Genuinely didn’t expect that twist. Although Millar is a fan of twisting a twist so I’ll wait until I read the last issue.
I’m sad this is only 6 issues. This is the first concept of Millars I felt could be as big as as The Ultimates.

Agreed that this was a big WTF. I can't see Millar ending with #6. I anticipate more minis in the future. And with the Netflix deal, i see this as a TV series at some point.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I’ve been picking this up, but had only read the first issue up to this point. With the release of issue five, I decided to sit down after work last night and read all five issues together. Wow! This might be my favorite MillarWorld book from Mark, and I like quite a few of them. Crazy twist in #5, it made me mad, but being a father, I understood the flip side to that coin. It’s do or die for Cordelia Moonstone, time to make pops proud! I’m really looking forward to #6....

Millar mentioned on Twitter that he’s writing Vol 2 after Christmas!
