    Default Preview: The Sentry #1

I never thought Jeff Lemire was coming back to Marvel after he showed up at SDCC last year joining DC. So glad he is!

The first preview for Sentry #1 is up here: http://www.adventuresinpoortaste.com...view-sentry-1/

I haven't really read anything by Lemire before but this looks solid.

His Moon Knight run was excellent (and also deals with mental illness).

    Whoa Sentress is back.

So Bob's operating in a make believe world he makes essentially as a way to destress in. Fun.

    Definitely picking this up.

Looks interesting, I’ll definitely pick it up. I’ve only ever read Sentry as part of Bendis’ books so I’m interested in these support characters and alternate world, as I don’t think he ever touched on them.

Bendis never used Scout and who even knows what happened to Watchdog. Sentress was introduced in the criminally underread Age of the Sentry which this run is gonna be relying on it seems.

I'll buy this. I like the character and I don't really have anything to pull right now.
Patiently waiting for X-Books to be rebooted later this year

So wait, Bob becomes the Sentry? I thought the two were one and the same. Well, counting Void, all the same. But that sounds like Sentry is an entirely different being that Bob merges into, like Billy Batson and Shazam/Captain Marvel. Am I reading too much into that?

As a concept that's been done before. It was for example explicitly shown during World War Hulk. Now how TRUE it is depends on how you interpret it.

Depending on the story and writer whether Bob ALWAYS is Sentry or not or BECOMES him ala Captain Marvel seems to vary. I tend to think it's Bob ALWAYS is Sentry but shifts himself and how he looks between Bob and Sentry (and Void).

... no, you aren't reading too much into it. Have you read the second volume or Age of the Sentry?
