DC probably did too...which is why we got that annual last year depicting the bittersweet happy ending, if the marriage doesn't happen, that story is the ideal jumping-off point for those readers.

Too late for that. I think Sacred Knight may be right; if they pull the rug now it isn’t going to be jumping off for a lot of people as much as hopping up and down anger. Besides which, DC isn’t in any position to deliberately dump readers, especially from the franchise which, let’s face it, constitutes far and away their most important profit center.

The batman marrying catwoman thing is already a red flag but we will see the outcome soon enough. For me, I don't care which way it goes, the whole Tom king take on this relationship reads like a fan fiction.
